Making up a bad grade with SAT Subject Tests

Hi, my school is notoriously difficult in the science department, very few kids receive A’s in biology, chemistry and physics, the core science classes (our school is ranked top 3 in the state for science, but our state itself is not very competitive). I want to be an engineer, but received a B in both biology and chemistry. (IB and HL). I am currently taking Chem II and will likely receive a B+ maybe an A-. Would getting a high score on both the biology and chem subject test (770+) help show that I am capable of this type of science? I understand one test score cannot completely remove the B’s I received, but can they at least aid my chances?

Thanks

Of course they will help.

The SAT IIs can certainly indicate some grade deflation- same with an AP score. It would definitely be a bonus to your app.
