So ,guys ,have you ever made-up examples on the SAT essay ?
I am not talking about personal examples. You can always make up ones and no one would care (nor they can find out)
Have you ever made-up examples from history, science, literature or sth like that ?
My frined made-up two examples in the January testing. He wrote about a ''very famous'' South African novelist ,who in 1895 wrote a book called ''the dreamer'' ;the main character in this book asserts his thesis and point of view.Of course, neither the book ,nor the author existed.
His second example was ''scientific'' .He explained the life of a ''very famous'' Russian physician who discovered the microwaves in 1901 .My friend doesnt even know what the microwaves are ,nor he has ever heard of Russian physicians.
Using these two examples + some sophisticated words and phrases ,my friend got 12 on his essay.
So ,what do you think ?Can this ''strategy'' hurt us ?

The graders could care less whether your examples or true or completely made up. All they care about is if the example you created relates to the topic and supports your stance. Even if they realize what your writing is a lie, they don’t count it against your grade, just as long as you used the examples appropriately.

I didn’t… but only because I could write better about real things.

It’s not a moral issue. They never asked for truth, and they don’t care.

your friend is a fantastic liar

on my essay, I spent weeks picking out and memorizing classical examples like Shakespeare, Washington, Hitler, Freud, Cleopatra, Lucy Stone, and a bunch of other dead people. I spent the morning of the SAT reviewing all the people. After I read the prompt, I threw everything out the window and wrote about a fictional tribe in Australia called the Zaikiwikiku, who, with the help of Bono, had successfully been fighting the tobacco companies and drug lords.
my second example was how bob dylan coped in his transition from country to experimental music

so either it was a perfect lie or my reader was a bob dylan fan

So I will try to make sth up I ve heard that examples from science, literature, history ,and things like this give somewhat more credit because my essay sounds more mature. What about that ?

I was thinking about making a post like this, actually. I was thinking if I couldn’t think up an example I would do in the novel <makes creative=“” name=“”> <noun> did this… ha =p</noun></makes>

I think I will try and pick out some examples, but if all fails I will just use my creativity and make my own book and stuff.

And lol at ‘Zaikiwikiku.’ Did you have to go back to see how you spelled that?
