Hey everyone. So I'm auditioning at the NYC Unifieds and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for audition songs. For the up-tempo song I was thinking "Monticello" from Edges or "Lost in the Wilderness" from Children of Eden. For the ballad I was thinking "Let Me Walk Among you" from Bat Boy or "Younger than Springtime" from South Pacific. I'm 17 and look about that age, so don't think I should play anything too old... If anyone has any suggestions I would be great! (I'm also looking for monologues if you know of some)

I would suggest that you have one contemporary song and one more classical selection. Some schools even require that. “Younger than Springtime” is a great song, but it is considered a bit “overdone”, especially considering the recently revival. But if you sing it well, it’s definitely a classic that people love to hear. “Monticello” is difficult to cut in my opinion and Pasek and Paul are still risky in the eyes of some auditioners, as they are such new composers. “Lost in the Wilderness” is done more, however. Whichever you are more comfortable with would be the direction to go- I wouldn’t say either of them are poor choices by any means.

I am sending you a PM with monologue suggestions.
