buuump please

I think you have a good chance, good luck

SAT is gonna kill you. If that 3.88 is UW, I'd say your ECs might balance your SAT enough to get in, but if it's W, there's no way in hell.

really? i never really considered my GPA to be the thing keeping me out

Well I'm sure you're aware of how tough it is to get into UVA OOS. I live in Virginia myself and have several friends who got deferred early decision (this is IN-state, keep in mind):

4.5W GPA, 2100 SAT

3.99W GPA, 2040 SAT (800M), legacy

4.6W GPA, 2100+ SAT (also 800M)

Good luck to you, though. Just don't get your hopes up.

yea but i am applying as a male to the nursing school so im in a different ballpark then other OOS candidates

buuuuuuump

"yea but i am applying as a male to the nursing school so im in a different ballpark then other OOS candidates"

Sounds a little cocky....

um, no...its the truth

and i actually do wanna be a nurse right now, this isnt like a cop-out. I was just told that it made me somewhat of an URM (for gender)...im definatly not cocky about a school like UVA, its an amazing school that i feel will prepare for whatever career I wanna get into, whether it be medicine or something else. Its tough for someone from OOS, i realize that im not saying applying to the nursing school as a male will do anything for me at all but i think it does improve my chances.

I don't think it improves your chances THAT much. There are a lot of males that are nurses now. Your stats don't match up with an OOS for UVA.

ok thats one opinion, anyone else?

Apply, but don't get your hopes up.

i already did, im looking for more opinions

btw, a girl got into the nursing school last year at UVA with my GPA 50 points higher on her SAT, and nothing close to the courses/EC's that i have.

Why not look @ NYU?

u ever been to NYU/washington square park/the village?

buuump....

You should just go check their freshman profile for 2005 and see where you measure up.
