I looked up the BU stats on Collegeboard.com and i saw that they have a 61% Women 39% Men ratio…so does it help any in the admissions process if you’re male?

Almost all colleges are about 60-40 these days so supposedly being a male any where can help a teeny bit bit not much. It helps more at colleges where the ratio is higher than 60-40 since 60-40 is actually the norm at most places.

o really i never knew that?

I noticed that as well when I was deciding where to apply. I wonder why that is.

Well, there are more women in the world lolol.. so maybe??

Actually there is a lot of controversy about this since the numbers are reversed gender wise from only a decade ago. Many speculate that the thrust to push girls ed has had this positive influence, I think even law school has equalized gender wise from a generation ago when female attorneys were unique. Others speculate that males have been forgotten in this effort and more males consequently drop out, have discipline issues, are in special classes in HS, or do less well academically in HS.

so does it help to be male or not?
