<p>I'm thinking about applying to the MALS program at Dartmouth. I'm wondering two things: 1. Whether anyone has any firsthand insight on the program, and 2. Whether you might be able to estimate my chances of acceptance.</p>
<p>A bit about me:</p>
<p>I'm interested in the MALS program because I'm interested in research, and in several academic fields--cultural studies, literature, history. My ultimate goal is a career in higher education.</p>
<p>Received a BA in Communication from Westfield State University (Mass.) in 2010, 3.8 GPA</p>
<p>Worked as a freelance news writer</p>
<p>Presented an independent study project at UMass Undergrad Research Conference</p>
<p>Studied abroad</p>
<p>Currently completing a one-year paid internship as an English tutor at a university in Poland</p>
<p>I haven't taken the GRE yet; I know it's not required for the application, but would it help?</p>
