Man... day killer

I swear, the competitive nature of my school is insane, yet they still rank.

So today, I was talking with a friend of mine. Intelligent freshman, knows his stuff.

He tells me the classes he's taking next year

IB HL 1
AP Comparative Gov't (All Sophomores who were in MYP History pretty much take this)

He's saying he hopes that this gets his GPA to about a 4.7 so he can stay #1 in his class.

His weighted courses this year MYP Alg 2/Trig and Advanced Computer Math.

He told me as long as he gets to be Val, it doesn't matter to him.

This actually describes a lot of the sophomore and freshman classes.

It saddens me how people were like me my freshman year. I stopped when I realized it didn't mean much, to the dismay of my dad.

bumpiness.

What on earth is IB HL 1??

IB has higher level (HL) and standard level (SL) in different subjects - math, history, lit, language, etc…

IB math HL 1, my apologies.

That dirty, rotten, scoundrel. Honestly, you shouldn’t care what this kid wants, worry about yourself. I could put the same one liner in half the threads in HSL in the past like week.

This is the part where I laugh at my realization of how flawed competitive academics is.
