I was going to use this forum to see about transfering but I see that most people here are from the "Freaked-out High Schooler Society"

Guys listen to me: 99% of people end up loving whatever school they end up at, even if it wasen't their first choice, BECAUSE THEIR AWAY FROM THEIR PARENTS.

This idea that if you don't get into the most selective school possible has caused you to look at this desicion all wrong.

You should be asking people going to college right now if the teachers are any good. The "Best Program" for whatever major you think you're going to finish with may have professors that can barly speak English, there primarily for research.

Find out what students do on Friday night, if they like their dorms, if the surrounding city is cool.

Please, please, please go into this with a fun attiude, college admissions are forgotten once your there.

Troll nothing, I just found this site today.

Fun story: A friend of mine went to Columbia, his reach school. After semester he transfered to NYU because the hot water didn't work in New York winter.

He loves it at NYU and would tell you that the students and faculty are more friendly.

I realise I may have come off as harsh, but admit it: many of you are freaking out.

However, you'll be able to laugh at yourselves in a year, and it's true what I said: 99% of people end up loving whatever school they end up at, even if it wasen't their first choice.

I'm transfering after one year too, It's not because I don't like my current school (GO BULLS) but I've never lived up north and this Florida boy is going to try it!
