Hello! I would like a second opinion on what AP tests I plan on taking this year.

AP English Lit. I'm in the class, so it's a given.

AP Chemistry. I love Chemistry and I took it last year. But I would have to self-study and I'm not too sure about it.

AP Psychology. Already know most of the syllabus, just need a review of vocab. Scored a 3 on the Sparknotes Diagnostic test.

Either AP Environmental or AP Macro. They're both soft, so I would only take one. I would take it online.

This is on top of my other school load (AP Lit, Pre-calc, Biology 2, American History, and French 4).

So... yes, no? Environmental or Macro? Should I even try Chem?

I am a junior, if that helps.

Enviro/Macro: Ask around and see if anybody you know has taken either class online and see how he/she liked it and how he/she performed on the AP test. Also, if you like science more than econ, do Enviro (and if the opposite is true, do Econ). However, if you’re not completely set on one or the other, pick the one that seems to be more highly recommended by your peers. If you don’t know anybody that has taken either class, well, flip a coin.

Chem: Well, it’s hard to say; I don’t know the scope of your Chemistry class from last year. But if your chem teacher was really good and he/she really liked you, maybe you could convince him/her to tutor you a bit (or a lot)?

Would you recommend taking AP Chem and AP Econ, as to not have as much memorization as if I were to take AP Chem and AP Enviro?

I took Econ online though haven’t taken the test yet. It’s okay online because it’s mostly current events and stuff.

I would take AP Environmental if you have a basic biology background. Take Macroecon if you have a good government background. I would suggest taking the AP chem test, but don’t expect a 4 or 5 if you haven’t seen the material in a year or so. Best of Luck!
