Everyone talks about the engineering program at Tech. Opinions on the Management school? I want to go into management and like the exposure to current technology that GT offers (I want to get my CPA and consult.) Most of my family went to GT and I like a big city. Thanks.

I’ve just made a major change-around, so I’ll be double majoring in Management (going for MBA) and Modern Languages and Global Economics; I’ll also take a few industrial engineering classes, and hopefully the Engineering Management minor if I’m accepted.

From the description above, just one of the paths I could’ve taken, you can make a pretty interesting and technology-focused degree in management. I believe there are six certificates available for BSM, including accounting, and if you get permission you may be interested in industrial engineering courses. The course I’m hoping to take is Engineering Economy (ISYE 3025), which covers the economic analysis skills relevant to engineers and engineering firms.

The management advisors are really awesome, and the whole College of Management really loves their students. Whenever you visit, be sure to talk to a CoM advisor!

There are ten private schools in the top 15 of [this list](http://somweb.utdallas.edu/top100Ranking/searchRanking.php?t=n). I was admitted to two of them last semester for PhD study while applying as a graduating senior from the Georgia Tech College of Management. During my interviews, my interviewers knew who my recommenders were. The CoM has some very strong faculty, and other schools know that.

If you want to get your CPA, many CoM grads have successfully done that and have secured staff accountant positions with the Big 4 and Grant Thornton. I don’t know that much about consulting, but I’m under the impression that KPMG, Deloitte, and so forth prefer to hire engineers, especially industrial engineers, from our school as opposed to our Management grads.

Do note that at Tech, there is a stigma against Management students since many students who begin as engineers but perform poorly transfer to our College. Nevertheless, our grads are able to find work, and I wasn’t the only one who was admitted to a “top” grad school from the program.
