Is this possible in 4 yrs of study, and is this the only way one has a chance of landing an IB/Consulting job (at least inAtlanta)?

No and no. If your interest is IB/MBB consulting, your best option is industrial engineering. IB/MBB tend to not go after GT MGT but love the engineers.

To be more specific: Econ is 122 hours - 20 hours of free electives = 102 hours. MGT requires 59 hours of MGT course, so the total is 161 hours for the dual degree. 161 hours is not doable in 4 years.

wow thank you! GT is one of my In-state safeties for next year so worst case I will still have a chance, definitely in the South, possibly NYC?

There are not that many IBs and obviously only three MBB firms. All hire engineers at GT for their global needs. So it’s not really a South vs. NYC situation - if you’re hired by BCG from GT, you will get a choice of where you want to work, including NYC.

awesome thanks for your help!
