How good is the School of Management?? It ranked 42 in the USA for Best Undergrad Business program, so that doesn’t look very appealing =S

And the randomest schools are ranked higher… would you guys recommend Uni of Toronto’s Rotman Commerce over BU’s School of Management? I already paid the deposit for U of Toronto but I wouldn’t mind switching over if BU is better.

Can students in General Studies take courses in the School of Management or are they all required to take all their courses in the General Studies Building?

If you want to make it to a BB, I'd recommend Rotman. Much more prestigious school, internationally, and firms like GS, MS, JPM all actively recruit U of T, because it is one of, if not the top school in Canada. BU is a better option if you want to do things like accounting.

Yeah I know that you have to finish the two years of CGS to move into SMG but I wanted to know if on top of that can I take classes in the School of Management. Also, do students in SMG take ALL of their courses in SMG or do they take classes like science, reading, and social studies in their perspective schools? Thanks

What is with BU's rankings? I am told that a lot of companies recruit from the school (and are quite fond of SM 323). It seems to be getting better each year and the facilities there are second to none. Anyone know why it's so underrated? I know that Sloan and HBS are at the top of the list in Boston, but why does SMG rank so low nationally?

And I would think that BU would also be good for active pursuers of an I-Banking career; am I wrong?

SMG students have to take a couple liberal arts base classes in CAS and writing.
For CGS, you'll be completing those in your college. CGSers can only take one elective a semester starting second semester of freshmen year unless they overload. So basically you could take one class in SMG a semester.

Why are the rankings so bad? Because the rankings are crap :)
