OR YOU GOING TO UCSD FOR THIS 08 FALL TOO???

WELL... YOU GUYS!!!

SINCE I REJECTED FROM UCLA have to decide whether ucsd or uci.

i know i already posted about this issue but guess need more specific idea this time because of ucla. Freaking i really hate ucla now!!!

well what can i say...

so just wanna know Eleanor Roosevelt college requires lots of GE?

and there is anyway i can transfer from roosevelt to muir or something that did not requires much of roosevelt??? possible???

just checking website but still confusing...

so i need someone really knows about UCSD i need your advise

Please help me out here!

anybody going to ucsd(eleanor)management sci. ??? Anybody out there???

you are not alone let's bonding together --_-- a

do you need to do mmw? if so what numbers, mmw and hum are the 2 hardest ge “writing” classes with erc and reveille colleges respectively,

transfer of colleges is VERY HARD, near impossible. feel free to post more questions if you have any, i go to ucsd

btw ur ms major? did u get ur math taken care of already? and are ready to jump into upper divs? if not 20 series math can be hard if you’re not good at math

I got accepted to UCSD Sixth College Management Science

Am strongly considering it, and am also pending UCB. Got into UCLA Math-Applied Science major, and also considering that, but don’t really know what my line of thinking should be now.

Anyways, from what I’ve heard about the management science program, I like it. I think people were comparing internship opportunities in the other thread and that’s where UCSD management sci may not exactly excel…but I’m not the one to ask (I live in the Bay area, transferring from a CCC).

Also, Kwl, could you tell me about Sixth College? I guess, since I’d be living off campus, that I should know about its GEs and honestly don’t really know anything about it except I’m supposed to do some sort of “practicum” or something. Anyways, could you fill me in on what you know about sixth? Thanks.

Hi KwlAznkid…

wow r u going to ucsd right now??? thanks for your reply…
so sounds like impossible to transfer to muir from ERC. well if ERC have tons of more GE requirement than other schools… i dont know… i dont feel like stay EXTRA YEAR just for ERC … shoots… i kind da lost now…
also i am taking calculus 2 right now so still have to go take more math classes. i dont c my situation here and dont know any picture in ERC
any ideas??? again, thanks for your reply!!!

Oh hello! warrior2005 sixth college in better than ERC… DAMN ERC

i’ll get bak to both of you guys in a sec i’m at the library studying right now about to head home

(here’s a hint of how much work is at ucsd though :() tonight’s a early night to head home actually

now u really scarying me…
and which school you belongs to???
thank you so much for sharing your info. and knowledge with us!!!
also i wanna ask u if you have time i really wanna meet u somewhere in school
and having great conversation mostly for me about school.
at least i can buy u some good food or if that is not enough… well i dont know what to do
but,
if you dont have time well… that’s totally fine too
one more question… do u really like your school? ucsd?

oh! KwlAznKid
one more question… u said that it is almost impossible to transfer to some other colleges in ucsd… but can i at least try something? any forms or any procedure i can do???

ucla0202 - kwlaznkid is in warren. & i’m in sixth. i personally really like UCSD. the people and the environment in general are very chill and relaxed. a bunch of my friends that go to UCLA came down to UCSD to visit, and they all loved it here cause it felt liek they were really on a “vacation.” don’t let this fool you into thinking that UCSD is chill academic wise though. people really do spend the majority of their free time in the library, it’s usually always packed. but if you do the studying, you’ll be fine (either that, or the curves in the classes will help)

Warrior2005 - the sixth college GEs are extremely easy compared to revelle/ERC. assuming you’re done with the lower div writing, you still have to do an upper div practicum - CAT124 & CAT125. to be honest, i’m not that sure what it entails LOL it’s kind of confusing. but CAT124 can be fulfilled in many ways (a few select classes, internships, off-campus projects you enroll in), and then CAT125 is a class specifically devoted to writing a paper about the overall CAT experience (i believe it’s about 20-30 pages?). here’s a website that gives you a lot more detail about GEs/CAT: [Sixth College: Requirements for Transfer Students](http://www.ucsd.edu/portal/site/ucsd/menuitem.135225ab0c7ce3c0c0020010d34b01ca/?vgnextoid=82d9a78f2c741110a78f2c741110cdca5105RCRD)

Thank you, sir!

Were you a transfer student? If so, how was that transition?

wow we got another supporter!!! thanks avidity…

so ERC is pretty bad huh?

what can i do… damn it ERC…

Warrior2005 - i’m a girl!
lol no i was admitted as a freshman class of 2010 haha but i applied to trasnfer to UCLA (my app is still in review :(), so i can’t really help you with the transition matters :)

ucla0202 - well, it’s bad compared to the rest of the six colleges. but it’s not THAT bad. here’s a pdf for you! http://roosevelt.ucsd.edu/academics/ge_tran.pdf

UHHHHHHH bonnie *** wut r u doing on here?

hi everyone meet my gf bonnie aka avidity… CREEPY STALKER STATUS..

hey hey look at my join date! august 2006. i was here a long time ago
just didnt post

warrior! this one’s for you

my gf’s in 6th college (as she posted) and my roomate is a 6th college transfer at all, the ge’s are bad you have to take a few CAT classes, (which is the name of the writing class for 6th college) we’re from the bay area too actually, lol fremont to be exact. i live off campus as well, ucsd’s off campus housing is pretty awesome, we have a shuttle and bus system, shuttle is run by ucsd and bus is run by the city of san diego, we can ride both for free with ucsd student id, the shuttles comes every 5-10 min so it’s very easy to get on campus, just make sure you live CLOSE to a shuttle stop though, i can give you details later. if you live off campus the shuttles will be your main form of transportation on campus since parking is impossible.

as far as the 6th college cirriculum goes, it’s pretty much in the middle in terms of easy/hard
it ranks from easiest to hardest

edit i just realized my gf answered the question way better than me
wut a show off psh

muir

warren

marshall

6th
and the last two are revelle and erc and people rank them differerenetly depending on preference but those two are the hardest for sure.

call ucsd or do some reaserach and let me know what ge classes you need to take, that’ll help me give you better on advice on if it’s a good choice or not :)

ucla!

yep i was accepted here as a freshmen out of highschool so i’m a 2nd year here now, probably same as you guys class of 06 woo woo!

well i hate to break it to you but, i have seen a good handful of people stay behind in erc because of ge’s, check how many mmw classes you need to take, there is a total of 6 lower div classes and i’m not sure what else because i’m in warren and not erc, but mmw is NOT a easy class from what i’ve heard, but if you’re a good writer you’re good to go. do you know what the equilvalent of calc2 is here? try looking on assist.org

if calc 2 is either
math10b or math20b you will only need one more quarter of math here (lower div math that is)
if it’s 10a or 20a you will need 2 more quarters
and if it’s 10c or 20c you are done :)

ucla!
sure no problem i’m glad to help, helps me forget about getting rejected by ucla 2 years ago and once agian today lol
yeah i’ll be happy to meet up to show you around, show you the ups and downs of ucsd, i’m in warren myself and i think it’s not bad, the only difference in colleges is the ge’s since we don’t live on campus.
in terms of how much i like it
in terms of the area / the campus
i love it!!! san diego is awesome, just make sure you have a car, you REALLY need it to get around, the weather is nice and the beach is nice, cept if you’re looking for hot girls you’re at the wrong place
so many of those girls where u see them from behind and you’re like GODDAMN NICE!! and they turn around and you’re like OH WAT THE!!!
haha :D

the school itself, well just be prepared to work hard, i’m a econ major so basically its just like ms, we might even be in some of the same classes if you come here, there is no easy way out in terms of work. i took CC classes before so i can give you a comparison.
basically the work here isn’t THAT much harder than CC, but you MUST work harder,
why? because the curves at CC are WAY more generous than the curves here, it’s not that the material is that much harder it’s just that your peers do a lot better so you must do better to stay in the game :)

one more thing, no need to buy me food LOL :)

Oh, I’ll be back after I contact sixth about my pre-reqs. Count on it.
