I am an incoming freshman to UCSD and I am admitted to Economics.

I am going to change my major either to Management Science or Computer Science.

I am interested in technology stuffs and software, but I am also interested in Business and want to get a MBA degree in the future.

As I know right now, Management Science is closer to Business than Economics. If I changed my major to Management Science, is it better to choose Computer Science or Business as my minor?

SD is known to be a science and engineering school, so there are definitely more recruiters seeking CS majors at fairs. That being said, it’s important to choose to enter into a field that you both like and are good at. Fortunately freshman year is the perfect time to explore which major suits you better!

For the most part employers don’t care about minors. That being said, a CS minor is likely more valuable than a business minor because computer science skills are more marketable. If you want to go into business an MBA is likely the way to go. However, that’s far down the road (after college and several years work experience) so I wouldn’t even think about that right now if I were you.
