Managerial Studies Major

Anybody know how credible this is? Does Rice place many grads in the major ibanks or consulting firms?

Managerial studies cannot be taken as a major in and of itself, as it only has like 10 requirements or something. It can only be a double major with something else. My s. calls it a "side item" on his menu :) So, when you are looking at employment opportunities, be thinking about what your primary major will be. Rice has a strong entrepreneurship program, and internship opportunities with major corporations. They feel that their career placement office does a good job (my s. is only a soph-- so I have no direct experience). A lot of people feel that management skill come from experience. I personally believe that having some education/training in this area is a good thing, especially for the "tecchies" who might be inclined to be more comfortable with hardware than with liveware.
