Managing 3+ APs?

Hello all,
I’m new here, so I apologize in advance if I do anything wrong.

So I did not make smart choices in the past in regards to my schedule, so in order to prepare myself for my future career path in medicine, I have to load up on APs in my senior year (I’m a junior right now).

I plan on taking the following APs in September:
-AP Economics
-AP Literature
-AP Calculus BC
-AP Biology
-AP Chemistry

So far in my 4 years of high school, I’ve only done one AP a year for two years (AP Euro last year and AP US now). They have been relatively easy, so I think I can handle 5 my senior year. Despite this, I’m still a little anxious about my workload for next year. Does anyone have any pieces of advice that they could pass on to try to ease my worries? Thank you so much~

Thanks, I’m going to keep that in mind.

I did 5 my junior year, but stuck to 3 senior year.

Opinionated commentary:

  1. Especially if you’re doing med school, don’t worry about AP’s too much. Introductory classes can be easy A’s to help your GPA and college courses tend to teach better anyways.
  1. Senior year is hard at the beginning with college apps. I would try to keep senior workload a little easier than usual.

Still want to take all of those AP’s? Cool, here is some advice:

Everyone’s different, but I managed partially because of a couple things.

  1. Sleep is important. More important than I thought
  2. The Internet has awesome videos to help with concepts/studying. Khanacademy, hippocampus, youtube.
  3. Practice tests are my favorite
  4. Actually studying every night does wonders for retention. With that said, I wouldn't start using actual ap prep books until a couple months before the test.

Good luck! And remember, the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

Awesome, thank you so much!

(Am I supposed to lock the thread or anything like that since this thread is done?)

Welcome!

Nope, no locking. It’ll just stay here in case anyone else wants to comment

Alright, thank you again~

I am also thinking of taking a few APs and online classes next year. My advice to you is to manage your time wisely. The problem I seem to be encountering now is procrastination. Ask yourself if you are really 100% going to commit into your AP classes. My GC and I have gotten to know each other during the process of discussing my four year plan. If you have any concerns about your abilities to handle AP classes, I would advise you to make an appointment to see your GC. I wish you the best of luck!
