managment information systems

what do they do?lol

They are usually in charge of the IT or simply the tech departments at companies and business's and make sure that the network and servers and other such things that make the business or company move are in good shape. They usually head the same group of tech people on thier tech team.

You have alot better chance of getting this Job with a Bs in CS and a MBA in MIS or CIS.

MIS in general is very low on the technical level. Most schools just have standard Info systems and general java or c++ material. Stuff that is in know way even close to being technical.

^^ I disagree totally. The key word here is "management" and you don't get much training in making management decisions (to better the businesses bottom line) with a CS degree. A person who is in charge of the information systems of a company is less concerned with the technicalities (that's what the programmers, and network administrators deal with) and more with the costs and efficiencies. One who is in charge of making management decisions doesn't necessarily need to know all the technical stuff, but does need to know how to run a business and make decisions that improve the business (which means he/she will know how to utilize the people who work for them).

Your not going to be managing much with an undergraduate degree, but instead you will be part of the team. trust me there will be a lot of CS techheads anywhere you work and they might have the upper hand when it comes to MBA admissions.
