Mandatory ACT wiriting test?

-I found out in my school yesterday that writing part of the ACT is mandatory; which really threw me off, because i have went through few of the prep books and they all said it was optional. I talked to a few of seniors at my school and they all said they had to take. Is this is a national change for ACT or maybe
because the ACT is part of PSAE? Its odd because my brother went to the same school 2years ago and he didn't have to take it.

-It sucks because ACT is in a week and i haven't been preparing for the writing section. Dose your writing section have appear on your transcripts? i m confused .

The makers of the ACT don’t require you to take the writing. I think it might just be your school.

your school most likely is the culprit.

even if your scores appear on your transcript, you still have to send an offical ACT report during applications.

it might be a requirement of your home state, who is paying the bill.

If you take the ACT through the PSAE, you have to take the writing section. However, it’s probably advantageous to take the ACT with writing seeing as most colleges require you to take the optional writing portion if sending the ACT.

i’m in MI and the writing was required, the whole thing was part of the Michigan Merit Exam (MME)
