@aimster888
Thank you, you make a good point. I knew about the days but was mostly trying to coordinate when there were days off. We haven’t scheduled anything yet.
My daughter got her acceptance about a week before Christmas! Woohoo!
$29K Scholarship
ACT 31
GPA 3.714
She does a lot of community service, runs a theater group at school, and is involved in three community theaters. She’s on her school’s robotics team and is in the Student Library Association.
I think this is her #1 school at the moment. We can’t log into the accepted students Facebook page, but I know she’s anxious to start meeting other admitted students!
@beautygirlsmom
Are you going to one of the accepted students days? We may go to one of those. It is a long trip for us so we are still coordinating. My D is going to an additional scholarship competition for another school in Feb. Manhattan might be her first choice but she has never been on campus so hard to say for sure.
We probably are - but we haven’t picked a day yet. The campus is about 2 hours from us, and my daughter has visited once. Are you west coast? My daughter’s second choice was Gonzaga - and she got a great scholarship offer - but we haven’t seen the campus and haven’t had time to visit. We ended up depositing yesterday at Manhattan
@beautygirlsmom
Congrats on finalizing the college choice!!
Yes, we live near Seattle. Gonzaga is either a 45 minute plane ride or fairly brutal 6 hour car drive (sometimes dangerous snowy/icy passes in winter, boring drive with few logical places to stop). My younger D visited Gonzaga last year on an 7th grade state history trip. She loved it but my older daughter thinks it is “middle of nowhere” so did not apply. Spokane is not bad and people are down to earth.
It’s that “middle of nowhere” thing my daughter is afraid of. She’ll be much happier close to the city that never sleeps -)
It really is not that bad but it certainly is not NYC! I think our D’s are of like mind @beautygirlsmom !
Our visit to Ohio will be interesting. Pretty sure my D will think it is “middle of nowhere” but the money they are throwing out is exceptional so we have to check it out.
I got accepted with a scholarship on Christmas Eve. The snail mail works in mysterious ways.
Nice surprise @dddemirel !
@dddemirel Congratulations! ?
Congrats!! Great Christmas Present ?!!
Thank you! @Gus12345 @aimster888 @JBSeattle
We are thinking we may go to one of the accepted students days. Our problem is my wife wants to go but would have trouble taking time off in April plus it is more expensive at that time.
Anyone else going in April? Would be fun to have a CC coffee or something!
We plan to attend 4/3.
We are planning on attending 4/7. Also, my daughter made up her mind today and Manhattan College is where she will be attending next year - very excited! ?
Has anyone received a financial-aid letter yet? The college said they would be sent out sometime in January, and I’m wondering if anyone’s received notification yet. Thanks.
@aimster888
Great news! I think we are likely going 4/7 as well. Manhattan is my D’s likely choice but she is waiting on 2 other schools, and merit scholarships.
Congratulations! My son has decided on Manhattan as well, Computer Science major. So exciting.
No financial letter yet for us.
My D just received the merit scholarship letter. We are not anticipating any financial aid in excess of that amount.
