<p>It isn't really that hard. If you have a muti-speed bike, then you're already used to shifting gears when you need more torque. I find myself in 4th or 5th gear most of the time anyway. The hardest part is learning how to work the clutch pedal properly (you have to learn how to "feel" the point at which the clutch plate contacts the engine's flywheel), and how to deal with stopping and starting on hills without rolling backwards. An hour or two of practice is usually sufficient.</p>
<p>i've driven both. Manual keeps you awake longer. And its a lot more fun.</p>
