Hello all,

I signed up for CS 61A. Since I'm not EECS or CS, I was put on the waitlist (as expected). I'm number 66 in a section that can enroll 800, so I'm under the "10%" guidelines.

Generally, how often is the 10% guideline followed? Is it different across departments, with some departments taking more off the waitlist than others?

Thanks!

I think you’ll be okay, right now you’re just waitlisted because you’re not CS. The 10% rule usually refers to being waitlisted for a full class… also, in my experience the 61 series usually does a really good job of trying to expand and fit in as many students as they can.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I know I attend class the first week. TeleBEARS didn’t let me choose a discussion/lab section, so which one do I show up for?

From the schedule: “Students will be notified of their discussion and lab section assignments on the first day of the lecture. You will not be able to sign up for the discussion or lab sections during Tele-BEARS.”

So, you’re in the same boat as everyone else. :P
