First off, on the issue of signing up for classes.... how do we do it? I heard that we sign up when we go to orientation but I didn't sign up for it seeing as how I didn't have money to spare. What do I do now?

Also, on a financial note, does the money we get from loans/aid go to us or directly to the school? May someone please explain the process on how to pay for your tuition/housing?

Also, this might sound dumb.. but when do we start school? >_>

I think you need to utilize the schools website. I’m gonna guess you are a transfer. I would try to sign up for orientation if you still can. I know that there are ways to get the fee waived if you fit into a certain financial demographic.

Crummy…from the link u post…it says about the Transfer college Assignment:
Academic Advising & Enrollment Packet mailed…what’s that??? did anyone received it already??

That’s the packet that says what college you got in to. Some minor details about the college and food and then when I can register for classes (at orientation, or a few days later).

you sign up for classes online at UCSC portal. you search up classes and add them to your shopping cart. then when your enrollment time comes, you just enroll in your classes by “checking out.”
[UCSC Registrar FAQ: Enrollment](http://reg.ucsc.edu/faqs/enrollment.htm)
that will help you in enrolling

Lol bumping an old thread? Yes, you sign up via your My UCSC portal. If you are a new student (freshman or transfer) then you can ONLY sign up on your orientation date.

And for those not going to orientation? I’ve called the college that I’m assigned to many times, and left messages for help. They have not called me back at all so I’m still very confused. I have however found answers to my questions via the website and other forums but the issue of scheduling classes is still a mystery…

I think your college might be closed for the summer or have limited hours right now. I believe they give all the non-orientation students a different registration date that is after all the orientations, but I’m not completely sure. What question do you have about scheduling classes?
