Many Problems: Deadlines, Waitlisting, and ID Numbers

Ok, I have several problems/questions that I could not find answers to on the forums, so I'm just going to throw them out here.

So, here's my situation, I am a National Merit Scholar chosen to receive the National $2500 Scholarship. I will be committing to the University of Oklahoma soon, but I was waitlisted at Brown and am holding out for an acceptance there for several reasons (not important). Here are my questions:

(1) I heard the deadline for letting NMSC know where you will attend is April 27, but since I won't hear a decision from Brown until mid-May/early-June, would they still accept the change of college, since I would like the $2500 to travel with me?

(2) Also, I am sending in the card to notify NMSC of my commitment to OU, and I have lost the paper with the Semifinalist ID number and Selection Unit number. Is it vital that I have those numbers, or can I send the card without them, and they use my name and address to match up the scholarship? Or if it is crucial, how would I go about finding these numbers?

Thank you in advance for your help. It's just getting close to all of these deadlines, so I'm starting to freak out a little.

Where money is involved, go straight to the source. Contact NMSC directly to make sure you know what you need to do:

Main Telephone: (847) 866-5100

Thank you worried_mom, your simple advice was all that I needed. I called and they helped easily answered all of my questions.

In case anyone else has a similar question, here is what I learned:
Since I am receiving the national scholarship, there is no specific deadline for NMSC. The April 27 deadline only applies to those competing for the college-sponsored awards. Therefore, I should just send in the “Request for College Change and Transfer of Scholarship” sheet included with the award package once my plans are firm. However, since the University of Oklahoma requests notification by April 27 as well, the operator suggested that I make a copy of the form and send one in immediately, naming OU, and if I get accepted from the waitlist and decide to change my college choice to Brown, send in the second copy then, naming Brown as my college. This allows OU to be notified when it needs to, but still leaves me open so that if I change, it is no problem.

Also, the semifinalist ID numbers no longer matter as I am a finalist. The finalist number, which is simply a 10 (my graduation year) placed in front of the semifinalist number, is already printed on the response sheet, so there is no need to worry about finding that either.

Hope this helps anyone else who may be asking these same questions.
