Is it okay to ask a teacher that taught you in ninth grade for a reccomendation if they were the advisor of an academic team and have known you all the years since then. Or, should it be from an 11th or 12th grade teacher that might not know you as well. Is 12th grade teacher okay. Also, let's say you are in the school newspaper, an editor and everything, but never had the advisor, who is also a teacher, for an academic class, besides putting together the paper. I personally feel the advisor knows me better than some of my teachers from 10th and 11th grade. Should I go with either of these two advisors, or teachers I had before. Help, advice, please. Thanks!!

Should be 11th grade, ideally.

Get a teacher from 9th grade and a teacher from 11th grade...two recs. Colleges always say they want junior teachers, so if you have at least one junior teacher that is good, but you can send another rec. even if only 1 is required with the teacher that knows you better.

If two are required, like for ivies, would you suggest the same thing, or two stricly academic teachers from 11th or 10th. Also, could someone tell if 12th grade teacher is bad if in addition to a 12th?

sorry 11th, last 12th is supposed to be 11th

i mean would you, nty2114 suggest the same thing, sorry I was kind of vague, and anyone else too if they have some input

hmm, anymore ideas anyone?

anymore help please

11&12 grade teacher recs are ok. As long as they know you that they can write good letter of recommendation.

I sent a letter from an 11th grade teacher. I did well in their class (AP Calculus).

I also sent a letter from a 9th grade teacher, who I feel really knows me as a person, as I've kept in good contact with them throughout high school.

Do what you feel is good.
