okay…so thank you for all the diversions and laughs while I just try to figure out when the decision comes down, and when that trip to the mailbox will yield a hopefully BIG envelope and I can text my kid! I think tomorrow may be the day!
But enough is enough…the bedbugs were the final straw for this parent. It is so clear someone has a real gripe with St Olaf. But that happens EVERYWHERE. Okay, so take your energy and go to the administration!! Bedbugs don’t concern me (at least in this case), but malicious people do… please…this is a lovely, good school, and my kid wants to go here. We’ve visited TWICE from way out of state. Our first time on CC exactly one year ago when we did the college match, St Olaf came up 100%. It is a great school and I would be thrilled if my kid goes to St Olaf. She really likes the limestone and the energy.
It is unlikely she will have a car, so all the parking issues won’t apply anyway! And…. she has an iPhone, so she doesn’t need a planner!!

I’m waiting for that envelope as well. I agree it’s a wonderful school and it’s horrible that this one person has created multiple profiles to bash the school. And the bedbug profile was horrible and has been taken down 4 times in 2 days in fact the person today tried to copy my profile with same profile picture but added an r to tiger to try and make it look like me. I complained and got it removed.

St. Olaf attracts bright and talented students. Clearly, prospective students and their parents are also bright enough to discern the central theme expressed here from the different posters, which has little to do with planners or boots on cars. If one discounts the excessive, repetitive Tiger posts, presumably written by a high school student with no firsthand experience, a pattern emerges: an administration that is over controlling, an outdated alcohol policy that promotes binge drinking and impedes students from seeking help, a closed-door dorm environment that creates a militant-like relationship with JCs, and a campus-wide culture in which students’ wings are clipped from just trying to speak out or take a stand. The student group, Enough!, formed to try and end this culture that, according to the group, engenders, excuses, and encourages hate crimes and incidents at St. Olaf, http://stolafmicroaggressions.■■■■■■■■■■/. This is serious stuff.

It doesn’t seem like the microaggressions portal has much to do with your complaints about the alcohol policy, LowerEd. Nice try attempting to exploit the efforts of students who have real complaints beyond the usual concerns related to an impulse to park in unauthorized parking spaces.

I think if you make amends, the accessories fairy will leave a lovely college annual planner under your pillow for a nominal $25 fee.

Congrats Tiger!! We were rewarded at the mailbox today! Yippee! Looks like we will be taking another trip to Northfield. But wait, I didn’t see a planner….

Congrats to your daughter nohelicopter! Sadly the planner arrived today and it was a 2010 used copy filled with rants of big brother, cars being booted and lady bug infestations. Best of luck on the final decision…

And the ■■■■■ is back pay your fine and study harder. How many profiles do you play to create? Your 6 profiles are the only ones complaining. Make that appointment at the counseling center.

I heard about that girl Ashley during my overnight. Hated by everyone on campus spoiled brat that thinks rules don’t apply to her. Gets busted for drinking then writes how bad security is.

So if the pattern remains the same Thunderhips, highered, or a new profile will now pop up and say I agree with stillH20 to try and bring legitimacy to a non issue. Then H20 will say wait I’ve been a member since 2007 yet I only have 3 posts and since CC doesn’t ever delete posts we are left to assume you signed up in 2007 but wait 7 years to post…just like Gdad.

Ashley pay the fine, don’t drink and study harder.

I wonder if some of these postings are an effort by the “Enough” group, an organized group of students based on Oberlin’s “micro aggressions” group. They seem to be the sort of achy people who are always looking for a source of misery that is not visible in their very own mirror. They could probably crank out a few brooding letters about their mistreatment and the serious lack of utopia they are encountering at college, where the rules actually apply to them. St. Olaf has been trying to recruit based on diversity, which has resulted in some interesting resentments.

I know there will be several posts calling me names and making accusations that I am five people on this site shortly after this posting. However, our family had a laugh today when our son received a portfolio/ planner from the law school he is attending in the fall. I feel vindicated that these porfolio/planners are still utilized by top law schools in the country as a generous welcome gift in 2014. So sorry you did not receive one from Olaf .
