MAP test scores as predictor of ACT score

I was looking at my local school board’s agenda online, and there was something I had never seen before. It was a grid showing MAP scores and the predicted ACT scores of students at each scoring level. So I’m providing a link to it below for those who are interested.

One caveat: My son’s ACT score is quite a bit higher than what would be predicted from his fifth-grade scores. He has had a pretty rigorous curriculum, and I do think that can make a difference. So use this as a very rough guide, and don’t assume that a fifth-grader who doesn’t have an “Ivy League” score in fifth grade won’t be much improved by 12th.

That is an interesting conversion table!

Although I think it is pretty optimistic to suggest that a 32 ACT is getting you into the “Ivy League.” Maybe a small step in the right direction, anyway.
