I was on MapleStory in the computer lab yesterday and I got in trouble, and I couldn't handle sitting there, so I went back on it and got in even more trouble even though like a third of my class was on it.

I was in the same boat not long ago. I guess you just have to put some discipline on yourself and don’t touch it.
Or, like me, you can delete the short cut from your desktop. =) Better still, uninstall it.

You wouldn’t believe how obsessed my little brother used to be with MapleStory. He’s literally spent entire days (9AM till 12 midnight) doing nothing but playing MapleStory. It was pretty depressing, seeing an entire summer go by, where all he had to claim for it was advancing several levels on some stupid computer game.

Believe me, you don’t want to go down that road.

I’ve been on similar situations for long times, but not maplestory - lol I’m a pretty advanced gamer (used to be even a lot more hardcore), played a lot and yeah.

Maplestory can be addicting for a while, but eventually it takes so long to level that you just give up. I played about 3 weeks, got to level 45ish, and quit (and that’s considered decently fast, because I knew how to level).

Played it for like 3 years during middle school and summer before freshman year. Got addicted lol. But I sucked at it (as I suck at all games) so I stopped after I just COULD NOT get past level 29, to 30 at which I could get a job advancement. Then right before level 30, they decided to make a new version and get out of the BETA version. So I was forced to start over and quit.

I only played it to make my character look pretty lol. XD

My little brother actually got banned for something, and he started the game ALL OVER AGAIN. This was after literally HUNDREDS’ of hours worth of playing, and he just started from SCRATCH after getting banned.

God, my brother has a pathetic life.

Not that I’m one to talk, but at least I don’t spend all my times playing computer games. >_<

Oy. I’ve been addicted as well. I quit at 70 and then gave it to a childhood friend to play. I think he quit once it reached 90-abouts. :)

Runescape, Neopets, StarCraft, Gunbound, BnB, and Counter Strike are names of other games I’ve been obsessed with during my middle school/early HS years. Although it’s much more fulfilling to have a “real” social life (to me), I wouldn’t be too quick to judge. Tons of friends are made, immediate gratification is given, and a constant source of entertainment is had. Seems like a pretty good deal… I don’t regret the time that I spent playing these games because I enjoyed myself, and as long as you can do that, can you really complain?

Word, bro, minus the neopets/runescape, +2 on the SC (waiting for II, but I haven’t played regular SC in like 2 years haha), and a HOST of other games.

have a friend who tried to sell his level 120 for $200 since he realized how much of his life is wasted due to that game. He has a few more accounts though.
While I haven’t touched maplestory, I have been addicted to kingdomofloathing, a more untraditional browser game. I’ve stopped, but I think I might go back since I did invest a ton of time in it.
