Are you asking me Summerlovin?

Yeah, I am

Legacies are considered. Usually if the alums donated (in the, I don’t know, hundred thousands?!) but most all legacies are considered,

Well. To answer your question. Yes, I do know things about USC. Both my parents were alumni so I wouldn’t exactly argue that it doesn’t matter for my own sake. But, I asked before whether it mattered and I believe it was cc411 who said he called and asked whether it was considered and they said they don’t take it into consideration. So that’s what I know of it. Prove me wrong if you want with some evidence.

Haha, isn’t one fifth of the incoming class legacy?

FellowCCViewer: I have no idea about that statistic lol. Wow, that’d be good though lol.

yeah its true

hey i can log into the web registration site. is that a good sign guys?

how do u know what the pin # is?

The Pin # came in the mail, with all your labels

*edit: sorry, that’s the USCID

Uhhh, I just pulled out that letter (it happened to be on my desk…)…They give you the USC ID#, not any pin #'s unless I’m not seeing what you are referring to…

My D got her rejection letter yesterday, after her status changed at 5:42 yesterday morning. The letter was dated 3/28, so they must have updated her status after the letter was printed. Just for you all to ponder, and not to dash your hopes, in the letter it says that most of the admitted students this year were straight A students with SAT scores in the 95th percentile and above. It was the nicest rejection letter I’ve ever seen. Obviously the candidate pool this year was amazingly successful and talented. Also, being a legacy, they offered to counsel her in June regarding transferring in after a few semesters. In any case, she is going to Boston University and is very excited about it. Good luck to all of you, and if you don’t get in to USC, I know from the passion and energy you’ve exhibited on this board that you will succeed whereever you go!

wish the best of luck to your D.

does it mean anything if you can log onto web registration but not the rsvp events site?

I’m so sorry, elizabethh. The competition is amazing this year; the acceptance rate has gone down to 21% for USC. I’m sure everyone on this forum will do great wherever they go, too.

Same for me. I can get on registration but not RSVP.

Muller,
SC publishes the GPA in a PDF form for high school counselors. For the 2007-2008 class the unweighted GPA was 3.71. The weighted GPA was 4.07.
I expect the GPA for this incoming 2008-2009 class to be higher.
For the 2007 the private high school most represented in the current freshman class is Punahoe in Hawaii. The public high school most represented is Torrey Pines High School in CA.

i think it’s punahou btw  but junkkkkkkk i’m not from punahou =[ i got to some ____ public school in town ><

i just logged into my oasis site and it looks different now, does this mean anything?

Elizabethh - I am sorry to hear about your D’s letter from USC. My S is a legacy too, we are still waiting. He is reading all the other posts and getting excited thinking they “saved the best for last.” I can only applaud his youthful optimism and pray for him to be happy. So many have said that 1 yr from now our kids won’t be able to imagine themselves anywhere else than where they are, but you just want to see your kids happy. Let’s hope for the best – good luck everyone.

university1 - It all turned out for the best - we are all so happy she’ll be at BU and leave So Cal for college. Just like you said, now that she knows she’s going to BU she can’t imagine going anyplace else. Good luck with your son, I’m sure he’ll do great where ever he goes!
