March 10th SAT Discussion

snide remarks
and wry observations. were they choices for 1 question

yeah and i put those for both

there was a sc about someone who took bribes... what was the answer

Yikes.. i think I put venality.

Ah, just looked up venality on M-W.com. It is indeed venality (yay!). This was the vocab question where i didn't know what the answer i chose meant exactly.. but the others were not right so there u go.

august's_chopin:
I agree with what others have posted, just wanted to add the part about Koribilia. I distinctly recall that it said something about: "it was the one of the most populated, densely townS in the ancient blah blah blah..." I just said the was part was wrong, hopefully that was the right answer...

For the as quickly as question, I put down E, like most other people did.

Also I think the rowing should be attempt at rowing.

Did anyone else say that it should be compatible with instead of compatible to?

On a side note, how do you bold, italicize or underline on CC, do I do the usual ctrl b, i and u?

if it is... then it should be venaltiy as that is related with corruption..

but i think that's an exp??

i would so love it if it was

yes it should be compatible with..

to bold... highlight with mouse and press ctrl+b

if you have a mac.... haha no clue

but it IS: ONE OF the most densely populated townS.

You can't say one of the most densely populated town.... is that what you were saying was wrong? I seriously thought it was no error.

it could have been an experimental

hey you guys if you are providing answers... i think it's better to put down what you usually score on the sections... that way we can judge how credible your answers are (sorry no offense)!!!

For me:
Cr: 650 W: 700 M: 800

topazs did you have the section on whales?

never took sats before
but on psats
cr 74 wr 80 m 80

if you miss around 15 for math with half of them ommited
around 8 for CR
and around 3-4 on writing with a 10 for essay
what score would I be looking at?

which question was the "compatible with" for?

the compatible to was a writing error im pretty sure

what about -10 CR
-3 Math
-4 Writing 10 essay

8 for CR is high 600's.
15 for math is low 600's at most.

I don't know about writing. It should be mid 700's?

ill take that any day

aquamarinee: The underlined portion of the question was one of the, so I thought maybe it should have been some of the most densely populated and densely blah blah blah. It was the last question of the sentence error section, and it is rarely no error. So i thought there had to be an error...

looking at this thread... these are the most hotly debated for CR and W: I also have the "general consensus" for them... any differ?

the CR:

1) monkeys: extroverted so orangutans: demonstrative??? Wrong

2) Desert (vocab completion): regularity because occasional rock jutting out wrong.. should be relief

3) section 2(vocab completion) Moratorium? Retention? I put moratorium moratorium is right

4) Radio: 2nd pp question: tangetial nostalgia.. talking about childhood??

6) “big version of the american sister, sweet charming etc. One of the choices was intentional flattery.” or is it "Wrong interpretation of statements" ( look few sentences afterwards)

8) Transition for Chinese narrative: praiseful to self-deception? correct

Writing:

2) Koribilia (ancient place in modern Georgia) - no error?

on the writing i made sure none of my answers were passive UNLESS the nonpassive ones simply did not work
