March 13 SAT

Should I register for the SAT on March 13? I haven't taken the SAT yet an I am currently a junior. My PSAT scores were M: 58, CR: 45, and W: 44.

Sure. Why not? Just make sure you do some preparation before the test (minimum: a couple Blue Book tests).

You should register. And you should do it soon because seats will run at at your local school and you might be forced to travel long distances just to take the test. Last year my friend waited until a couple weeks before the test and had to drive an hour to get tot eh testing center at a random school that he has never been to

I was trying to register yesterday, but my school ran out of seats. I found another school that I can take it, but never been there before. I was also trying to register on a different date, but my school didn’t appear on May and June SAT.

Definitely try to take it as soon as possible so you have time to re-take it if you don’t get the score you wanted, that’s what I basically did. My school didn’t have any seats left either so I tested at another school. I think it was better for me to test at another school because I didn’t recognize anyone, and it took a load of pressure off. Drive to that school a couple of times and you’re set. Besides, you’ll have to test at another school if your base school isn’t holding the test for the rest of the year.
Remember: Study from the BB, go to the SAT Online website (they have some great tips about stress relieving before the test day), and I think you’re set. Good Luck!

Register only if you feel adequately prepared. If not, it is best to wait until a later date since some universities will require that all scores be sent despite the Score Choice option. (Such a policy is a form of autocracy, of course, but I do believe that colleges can see whether a student is sending * all * or * some * of his or her scores and a breach in score sending policy would not be favorable.)

I was researching this and found an “article” that I thought would be informative: [Will colleges know if I use SAT Score Choice??](http://www.bookcost.net/education-blog/will-colleges-know-if-i-use-sat-score-choice™/). The use of language in the article is completely unintelligible, however. (Or, at least it is to me.)

All signs point to the idea that colleges do not know when Score Choice is used.

This line from [Score Choice - New SAT Score-Reporting Policy](Send SAT Scores to Colleges - SAT Suite | College Board) suggests that colleges do not know:

Thanks for the article in post #7, silverturtle. I have not laughed that hard in quite a while. I should reference that article should I ever involve myself in a debate regarding indecipherable language again.
