March 15 SAT

which was the experimental section??

yeah, it was an equilateral triangle whose sides were formed by the 3 radii of the circles. Each angle was 60. So 60/360 or 1/6(20pie(C of one circle))(3(the sides)) So the answer is 10pie.

unckid: the length of the diagonal should of been found by "super pythagorean theorem". I forgot what anwser was but you have to take the square root of a^2 + b^2 + c^2, where a,b, c, are the length, width, and height of the rectangle.

oo true - i left it blank anyway

Math:
The 3 circles question: 10pie???
yeah, that's correct i think. the arcs when put together visually made up half of the circle's circumference. so you used whatever radius/diameter it was that they gave you and find the circumference of the entire circle. then divide it by 2 to get half of the circumference.

NMQP #14/16- the probability question- 1/16?
4x3x2= 24, i think that's correct. so i agree w/ everyone else.

number of possibilities of 5x+1 between 35 - 300
i put 53 i think. i used my calc to find what numbers worked w/ the equation and got 7-59. subtract it, so 52. but add 1 cuz its inclusive to get 53. hope that's correct?

length of diagonal inside rectangular prism.
omg, this one was soooo annoying! it took me awhile to get this one, but i got 13. i'm pretty sure that's correct. you had to do pythag on the bottom of the prism. then you use that as one of the sides and like 4 (height?) as another and do the pythag to find the diagonal.

CR:
what was the one that was like distill-something/ squander-profiligacy?
i put the distill-variable (something like that). i hope that's correct. that was the one w/ the myriad of worthless projects. anyone know the true answer?

Writing:
James and his collections
this was annoying. like none of them made sense. i sorta guessed and put the one where they used the conjunction "and" i think it was. like the one where it was like blah blash blah... comma, a collection of autobiography. well, actually i forgot if that's even it. anyone have the answer?

i hope the experimental section was the first math section i had, it was the hardest. did anyone have the one question about two things starting at 10 am, one keeps going 6 hours and the other goes 4 hours and you had to see which time they would be equal? my first math section had this question.

My Questions:
-does anyone know the answer to the one where it asked how the bus driver on his thrown made him appear to be. answers were like he hated his job, exaggerated dignity.
-the writing identifying sentence errors where it was like the movie was praised for it's special effects. i thought there was an incorrect idiom, but i'm prolly wrong.
-the writing sentence correction where it was like the honey and something were blank for being something... (sorry so vague, can't really remember)

btw, when do you guys think we will get our scores?

the bus driver i remember- he had little feeling for his passengers' comfort

the one with the 10 am and 6 hrs with the drugs was 10 pm on tuesday. im sure of it.
i had that question too

also i think we get scores on march 20

CR: the vocab in text question that asked what was similar to "curiously." was it interestingly?

the bus driver i remember- he had little feeling for his passengers' comfort
hrmm, i thought that was the answer to the other multiple choice question about the bus driver. i'm prolly mistaken though.

i wonder if they can grade them in time. i'm thinking we'll have to wait a couple weeks unfortunately.

Yeah, I got 10pi too. OMG the critical reading was so hard!! AHH!! My essay was terrible too! I got home today and just started crying. I don't think I did very well.:-(

aww, i know. the CR was really hard for me too. i couldnt figure out like half of the sentence completions and the passages sucked. i'm sorry that you cried. i took my mind off of it by going shopping. haha, you should too. i hope you feel better =)

more questions?

what were the CR passages. i know there was the lawyer one, the two african americans, deep sea one, what's the other long passage i'm missing that was also in the first CR section i think?

I remember one of the answers I put was "theatrical flair."
Also, there was something like "African Americans who live abroad."

sentence completion: did anyone choose one that had deleterious in it?

I remember one of the answers I put was "theatrical flair."
-me too!
Also, there was something like "African Americans who live abroad."
-was that the one w/ the title of the article or whatever. like extrapriates or whatever it's spelled? i put that too if it was. please confirm.

CR question: the person who loved exploring deep sea environments. what were his feelings as a child as expressed in the first paragraph? was it curiosity or frustration? i put frustration, not sure though.

ohhh, nvm. i remember the other passage was the one with the dad.

was that the one w/ the title of the article or whatever. like extrapriates or whatever it's spelled? i put that too if it was. please confirm.

Yeah, that was the one!

haha, sorry for posting all over the place. but yay. and thanks for replying to my other question in the other forum. ughhh, i'm trying to think of other questions but there were so many.
