Decisions are coming out March 15!!

Who's nervous?

...I know I am.

I really hope I get in...this school is my #1 choice.

Do you guys think the decisions may come out tonight? the myucsc page is down for "maintanance" all day today.

I don't think so.I got an email from them a couple of days ago telling me decisions come out on the 15th and that I should check my account to see if it works or not.

UCSC mentions their site being down today in their "get your portal ready" e-mail"

"Please take a few moments now to log in and make sure that your user ID and password work. (Please note that the portal will be unavailable on Saturday, March 7, from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., due to planned system maintenance.) Then you will be ready to view your decision beginning on March 15."

Yeah I guess its because they want to prevent their site from crashing on the 15th.

hmm. when/how did you guys get your myUCSC log in info? i've been searching through my email & was unable to find it.

nvm. i figured it out. haha

My son received snail mail with his log-in info a while back (late December, early January?). They sent out a follow-up e-mail Jan 29th saying to contact their office (myapplication@ucsc.edu) if you hadn't gotten the letter.

Oops... posted before I saw your nvm.

Yeah, it's my number 1 choice too. I'm a little nervous, because I got rejected from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and I was under the impression that it was much easier to get into.

...and all decisions are posted at midnight on March 15.

Well, depends ^^^. Which major were you hoping for at SLO?

If your doing anything related to engineering it'll be highly competitive.

And Santa Cruz will start notifying people on the 15th,not all applicants will receive their decision on the 15th.

I applied into Psychology at SLO...

GPA : 4.1 weighted
SAT : 1910 (cr:700 math:610 writing:600)
3 years varsity tennis
4 years GSA
2 years high school orchestra
1 year UC Riverside college-level orchestra

This year, SLO was extremely competitive.

You have a good chance at Santa Cruz.

Well, I don't know...on the SLO boards, it looks like everyone with high stats got rejected, and all the mediocre students were getting in. I just don't understand how it can be "competitive" if the students with competitive stats all got rejected. I mean, honestly, SLO was at the bottom of my list, but it just kind of makes me mad that people with really really low GPAs and average SAT scores got in.

Ha, I hope so. If I get rejected to Santa Cruz, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Did you apply also?

I'm actually a junior right now.=P

Oh hahah. Well, that's good. I wish I would have started researching colleges when I was a junior. Where are you thinking that you want to go?

Cal Poly sLO.. I'm guessing it'll be even more competitive next year because of the budget cuts.

dude Skadforlife your more than safe for Santa Cruz...the average admit GPA is 3.7 and 1772 on the SAT...Santa Cruz still excepts ALOT of people below that average too.

I was looking at their fall 2008 freshman profile and they excepted people with a GPA range from 3.30-3.69 80% of the time...people with a GPA of 4.0 and above are excepted 97% of the time.Their overall admit rate is still pretty high for UC standards...72.8%...maybe subtract another point or two for bad economic times...but that still 70 something % if not in the high 60's.
