I got into SLO computer science and also applied for UCSC, but I am only eligible by examination alone since I don't have a 3.00 gpa. I am still confident.

does anyone know if it is possible for someone to get into ucsc if they have below a 3.4????

I am super nervous! I have like a 3.3 (UC GPA), and I am super nervous. I don't think i'm going to get in!! :(

Feel free to be honest, I have basically accepted the fact i'm not getting in.
:(

Trust me, you'll still get in at UCSC.

Whats your SAT/ACT/SAT II's?

My SATs aren't good either!!! All within the five hundreds.
ACT composite 23,
SAT 1670

oh and i am OOS...which is how i know my GPA and scores are too low to get me in :(

It's possible that they are too low for OOS, however, I heard a rumor that because of the budget crisis, UCs might be more welcoming to OOS applicants because they bring in SO MUCH more money and don't qualify for aid...so, it might be possible, but I don't know how true that all is.

ohh. well i guess that's good news :/

at this point it probably doesn't matter. ahh. i'm so nervous!

Man I just got denied at SDSU today...kind of nervous about SC now.I got into Riverside like a month ago.

UC GPA: 3.42
SAT I: 1620
SAT II 580/490

Than again the acceptance rate at SDSU is 44%....and Riverside is ranked higher nationally than SDSU...so I don't that bad anymore.

Well, SDSU is really impacted this year, and I believe they give precedent to students in their service area...so it may have nothing to do with your stats.

On another note, the only reason why their acceptance rate is low is because they get many many applicants that are HIGHLY unqualified, whereas the UCs have the extra requirement of the SAT subjects.

I'm pretty sure you'll get into UCSC though

I'm applying as a transfer student from a 4 year. I know what the portal says "March 15-April 30" but I wish I knew when they really notify transfers within that window...

Very few people will get their notifications on the 31st though. The majority will get theirs within hours after midnight or on the midnight of the 15th.

So should I stay up till 12 tonight??

Yes! (I mean, if you want) I'm going to, it's only, like, one and a half hours from now. Good luck everyone!
