Has anyone received their “acceptance phone call” from the theatre department?

My daughter auditioned but has not yet received the call. However, her friend did get a call from the director. We did receive an email last night saying that the letters where late and wouldn't get there until the 18th now because of the hard decisions they are making with sooo many talented/smart kids. Did you receive the email? From Jaqueline Sarkies i think was her name.

My son auditioned on March 1 and was called a couple of days later with an acceptance. Nothing in the mail yet. Good luck, sashusmom!

Any idea as to the number of students being accepted to MT?

I think it was about 35

Congrats to perischack's Son!!!!!!!

My d was accepted! Received phone message on Friday and spoke directly to Professor McDonald today!

When we were there we were told in our information session that they were accepting 16 to 18 as they usually have a class of 20 but were over by 4 from last year. I believe that everyoe receives a personal phone call for acceptance.

Oops! That number was for Elon not Wagner, but I do believe that everyone gets a personal phone call.

My daughter got a phone call last week and is thrilled! Our understanding is that they accept 36 students. We received the actual acceptance in the mail today. If anyone else from So. Cal is considering Wagner, we'd love to hear from you.

congrats to turtlesinger's and nancy's D's. We're still waiting so it doesn't look good.

Hi nancysuerd!

I got accepted to Wagner and from So Cal. Is Wagner your D's first choice?

OK- It's been almost 3 weeks since auditions. We haven't received anything. I don't want to rub salt into anyone's wound, but just wondering has anyone received a flat out rejection?

I feel your frustration, sashusmom. Perhaps you want to call...?

sashusmom -

I also really feel your frustration... Wagner was my D's first choice and still have not heard anything. I don't know who's more stressed out her or me.... However, she was accepted to the Hartt school for BFA in musical Theatre, so thats an option...

Thanks for your support!! It's not important enough to call because she has got 2 acceptances to schools that were higher on her list. But they only had 200 who auditioned. You'd think that they would send out the definate no's. Mamamia1007, I hope it is positive for your D!

GreenM & M...Wagner is high on my daughter's list for many reasons, but I'm not sure she knows really what her first choice is yet. She's very good at not making a final decision so she doesn't get disappointed. At one time Syracuse was first choice, but she doesn't think she nailed that audition the way she did Wagner's so doesn't really think she will get in. My daughter is on the Facebook MT group and we're from Pasadena, so you can probably find her there. Is it your first choice?

Nancysuerd- My D also flatly refused to say what her top choices were so she wasn't disappointed when rejections came in. It's funny how kids work!

Nancysuerd-Just like your daughter, I don't have a first choice because I don't want to be disappointed if I don't get in. I'm still waiting to hear from a couple more schools. It is definitely possible that I will go to Wagner next year. It is really going to come down to the financial aid though. I'll look for your D on facebook :]

OK-- We got an answer. Waitlisted again. But did get into the school with a large vocal performance scholarship. I guess they liked her classical soprano voice better than her musical theatre voice! Don't think it made her feel any better. My H and I thought it was a good validation for her vocal talent. My fingers are crossed for those still waiting to hear.:)

My D was also wait listed with a very nice scholarship. What do you think their chances are? Will your D stay on the wait list? I haven't had a chance to discuss with my daughter yet cause she's so busy with her HS show, she is not as worried now that she was accepted to Hartt... but it will be interesting to see which she decides.
