March 2009 SAT scores

Cr - 750
Math - 760
Writing - 720

CR was somewhat expected, was hoping for around 750 range. Math was very unexpected, and was surprised when I saw it. I was expecting around 700 for that, max lol. Writing was a shocker. I always get around 750-800 on practice tests, so ehh not too happy with that.

Overall I guess it’s alright for the first time. I signed up for the May SAT even before I received my scores. Hoopefully 2300+

CR-790
M-790
W-660(MC-71, Essay 7) never got such a low score.
Appeared for the first time.

Not sure if I should appear again. Any advice appreciated.

I’m so damn ****ed off.

CR: 670 (630)
M: 600 (630)
W: 630 (630)

1890 last time. Only a 1900 this time. How bad will it look that I dropped 30 points in Math?

Also, is there anything I can do about this? I know I did a lot better in Math this time around but I made a huge mistake! On one of the sections, I skipped a couple of problems midway through in my mind, but on the answer sheet, I kept on filling in answers. For example, I skipped #15 and put the answer for #16 next to #15, making most of those answers incorrect. I know if I didn’t do that, I would’ve done much better on Math. Probably about 650 at least.

I’m also disappointed that I only got a 7 on my essay.

One last question, after this abomination, I’m planning on retaking in June (already signed up for the Subject Tests in May). Will it look bad that I had to take the test 3 times?

CR- 660
MA- 710
WR- 710

I’m really disappointed. :frowning: I knew that the CR was going to be bad but I didn’t think this bad. "/

Turned out pretty nicely.
()=Oct scores
M: 740(800) (Seems like there was a huge curve on this one)
CR: 640(600) (40pts is an improvement, but I’m hoping for 700+ next time)
W: 710(580) (Wow!! HUGE jump!! Very satisfied with this score)

Comp: 2090(1980)
Superscore: 2150

I still want my critical reading score up to 700 so I will take the test an time or two. I’m pretty damn sure that it’ll go up again considering I did no prep for the first sitting and less than 1 BB practice test for second sitting.

To everybody who is satisfied with their score congratulations. To the others don’t panic there’s still time.

How did everyone see their essay subscore?

2230

Up 100 pts from last time, at least

I was looking for this thread this morning! I was in disbelief this morning. I was praying for a 2150, but I felt like I did really well on the test (as I ought to have, I studied my behind off).

M: 720 (+70)
CR: 750 (+70)
W 780 (+30) (77/80 and a 10/12 essay. I got an 11/12 last time.)
Composite: 2250 (+170)

My old scores were 650M, 680CR, and 750W for a total of 2080. I blew away my goals. I’m so happy!

OMG
740 M (how many wrong is that?)
680 W
630 R

I am really happy it is my first time and i didn’t prepare much. and i am not a native speaker)

Go here for your Writing MC and Essay subscores: https://viewscore.collegeboard.com/viewscore/myscores.jsp

CR: 740
M: 760
W: 760
Total: 2260. Last time was 2240 and superscored is 2290. Not 2300 like I’d hoped, but 1500/2290 is really good. Whatever. I’m happy. No more SAT.

nooo…this is like the worst possible score

M 800
CR 800
W 780 (essay 10)

noooooo, still happy tho :)

740 math
690 writing (essay 10)
670 reading
was aiming for 2100+ so exactly a 2100 is fine :)

now just SAT 2’s left and i can be done with SAT’s forever!!! lol

Oh AnastasiaZ, I got 740 on the Math section of the Jan test, and that was 2 wrongs, 1 omitted. The curve might be different though.

Thought i got a 2300+…got a 2120…what the *? 670 CR? 720 math? How the *…

Quick question: How come I can’t see my essay subscore?

All it says on my score summary is this:
Critical Reading 590
Math 590
Writing 650

Nothing else.

eff.
cr 600.
m 570.
w 590. (63MC, 6E)
1760.

better than my PSAT but only by 120 points.
i got an 8 on my PSAT essay. but this time i didn’t even finish the second paragraph.

retaking in june, anyone with me?

i think the math curve was -1 on multiple choice -> 780
-1 on gridins -> 790 (what i got and i definitely didn’t leave anything blank)

First time taking, I am SO psyched about everything except the writing! (But you know, that’s what retakes are for.)

CR: 800
W: 740
M: 700
Total: 2240

NEVER thought I’d do that well in the math, particularly as I haven’t even finished Algebra II yet!

Critical Reading 790
Math 720
Writing 800 (80MC/12E)
2310.

Ehhh not really sure what to think about this. I set out aiming for 2300 so technically I met my goal but I had started thinking I could do even better than that. No clue what happened in math, I was sure I only had two wrong!

CR… 10 points away from perfection but I’ll take a 790  I feel pretty happy about that after starting in the low 700s.

And 12 essay - yay.

Anyway, I’ll probably end up retaking to raise my math score… I’d look a bit strange applying to places like Caltech or MIT with that score distribution :-P
