March 2009 SAT scores

Hey… um… I can see all of my scores, but no percentiles or essay scoring/multiple choice in Writing. I tried the above link from Perle and it did not work. Anyone have a guess why?

Mcvcm92, maybe you can try what is suggested here:

ewww im depressed. my first time"
M 660
CR 580<----■■■
W 650
Will the second time be better? i just signed up for may so hopefully it will. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE FOR CR!!!

someone who wrote about ethnicity instead of ethics got an 8 on the essay ***.

it was so hard :[. like on the october test, i got 2160. And after prepping more, i got a 2120 this time. I have no idea how i did so badly. I really thought that this test was not consistent with the previous ones even though it is supposedly “standardized.”

dangggit you ppl who got 2300 flat make me feel kinda bad about my 2290 =/ cuz 1 more math question right would have put me at 2310
i was ECSTATIC when i saw the 2290 btw

don’t feel bad, pigs. I got a 2270, with a 680 on reading. :(

^aww thanks=] ur score is great too really!!
and i looked at the other thread
u got a 800 writing too, me too! that’s the only section i got a perfect score in! i’m so happy just because i got a perfect score in a section. that will look better to colleges that you have a perfect score in one section. and for some reason, colleges’ average sat scores in writing is always lower than the average in math or cr

and when u look at the stats, the LEAST amount of ppl get a 800 on writing. it’s like 4000 something…for math it’s about 9000 something and same with reading

i love reading this board about people retaking over 2300
i mean, reallllllllllly?

@gregb, only at collegeconfidential will there be people complaining about a 2300. loll

If you got less than 750 in one area and are applying to HYPSM, it makes sense to retake to improve that score if you think you are capable of doing better. Stanford and others actually publish info with score ranges like 700-750 in math % admitted, 750-800 in math % admitted, etc. So they are pretty much acknowledging that it matters.

first time and 1860… ugh.

So true lol. I told my friends today I got a 2310 and they were like “OMG 2300 HOLY COW!!1!!1??/” and I was like “yeah, I’m unhappy with my math score so I’m thinking of retaking it…” It was pretty funny.

im pretty disappointed.
i did alot worse on CR than I thought
710…wat the.
760 math (screwed up)
770 writing (74 mc with 11 essay… sigh mc again)
2240
should i retake? i really want >=2300
on my practices i almost always get 800 math, i usually get better than 710 on CR lol

750 cr
780 w (11 essay 74 MC)
800 m

=2330, first and last time!

I had taken practice tests before the March SAT and the best score I got was 2310. I got a 220 (71 cr, 80 m, 69 w) on the PSAT. I did not take any prep courses or tutoring. I did, however, review grammar rules and take a practice test every day for 5 days before March 14. (I was on spring break.)
This might seem unimportant, but I think a reason why I did better than expected on the SAT is that I had a stop watch that I used as a timer on so I could clearly see how much time was left, without having to look at an analog watch and do the math of when the section ended and how much time was left. I really felt like it made a difference.
Anyway, good luck to all taking it again!

hmm i got 74 MC and 11 essay as well
and cookiesNcream got 10 points higher
anyone know what’s the deal with that?

how do some of you guys know what you got on your essay? I am not able to view my detailed score report.

nvm, i got it.

1820<< First try. Really depressed.

690 Math
620Writing (essay: 8 WUTTT???)
510 Reading

This doesnt make sense. I always used to get 790-800 on Math practice exams. How can i get 680??? OMG.

Any tips how i can improve the score? Is tutoring from princeton review or kaplan any good?

I want atleast 2200 on my next SAT (june).

Please help. :)

You guys have to realize that every test is not the same. You may do better or worse on certain sections of certain tests just because of the type of questions involved. It can really just be chance. So if you did bad, it might have just been this test for you. If you did worse than before, same thing. All tests are not created equal for each person!

@112358: About the math curve, I believe -2 was 760. There was no 780 in between. So you missed either 3 or 4, and as for me, 4 or 5 (yeeek). And I also that thought that 790 for CR was -3…you could have just missed 2. :)

I think that my class at school is quite a bit less bright than the sophomores and seniors…I was certainly set on retaking that 2200 and my smarter classmates were looking at me with bug eyes. There were people who scored higher than me on both CR and M, but their composites weren’t as high, except for one girl with the same score as me after the 4th try. O_O My school aside, just looking at all the scores of CCers makes me feel faint. :P
