March 2010 SAT Results

CR: 740
Math: 690 (GRRR)
Writing: 670 (Essay=8?!?! ***?)

Grrr. 2100. Which is okay for my first try, I guess. But I’m a junior, I can’t take it in May, and I’m taking the subject tests in June, so I have to wait until October… :frowning: :frowning: :(

CR: 680
Math: 710
Writing: 760 (Essay 10, MC 75)
2150

Goal was a 2250. Took in December (got 670, 710, 630 then, so at least I had one major improvement) and will take it again in May just to boost math and CR some. I don’t know how my math wasn’t higher, I thought I did really well.

The consolidated lists should be 100% correct considering I did a lot of the consolidating and received a 2400.

@Jersey13: Would you mind chiming in at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/895986-retake-2360-a-3.html#post1064495558</a> ?

CR: 590
Math: 650
Writing: 570 (8 Essay, 57 MC)
Total: 1810
Goal: 1700

Might retake it, but will test my luck in ACT first.

Sorry to disappoint you, dear, but sooner or later your mommy won’t be there to do the shopping for you. And then you’ll be wondering why you didn’t bother learning common arithmetic.

^ Agreed 100%. Especially when you’re a prospective humanities major like me, basic arithmetic will turn out to be WAY more useful than calculus.

Point taken. I was speaking within my own little science/math engineering-bound bubble. :p

Actual Score (per section): CR 690 M 720_ W740(Essay) 9
Predicted Score before finding out: 2200
Goal: _2250
Satisfied or retake?: retake if i don’t do well on the ACT
Comments: i did better on writing then math??? i have no idea how that happened i would have expected my math high 700 - 800 range and my writhing in the 600s.

Obviously Calc isn’t for everyone. If your highest ambition in life is to shop, then you probably shouldn’t take it. But if you plan on doing anything science/engineering then you quite clearly will need it. If all schools prepared students for what the “average” American used, we might as well get rid of all APs and stupid at 7th grade.

^Then most classes would be speech, composition, and computer use.

M: 770 (Nooo! What was that one question I missed!?)
CR: 660 (In the lower range of my expectations…and I thought I did well)
W: 730, 75Q / 8e (Dislikedislikedislike the essay)
Composite: 2150
Expecting: 2200+, and 2000 minimum so I wouldn’t start slapping myself
Retake?: I have no idea. I detest my CR score and my essay score (even though the rest of my writing score is above expected), but like my math score. I need to find out if there’s any way UCs can detect if you use score choice or not.

^No college can detect whether you use score choice or not.

Is that true? So if the college allows score choice but encourages you to send all scores, they can’t tell whether the score you sent was your first try or your seventh try?

No, they can’t. But if a college asks that you submit all scores, it would be highly unethical not to do so.

First SAT

Math-700
CR-680
Writing-660 (68M 8E)

Overall I’m very content with my score. I went up 110 points from my PSAT. Hopefully retaking in June with some more experience. Great job everyone!

740 M
710 CR
710 W w/9 essay
total: 2160.

Exactly 100 points lower than the score i estimated from the consolidated lists (except writing i couldnt remember my answers, of course). Right when i found out my score, i called collegeboard and asked to switch my scheduled SAT 2 in may to SAT 1

770 M
740 WR w/ 8 essay
720 CR

Way more than I was expecting in CR and Writing…I’ve never gotten more than 670 on either in practice tests. I am content

loll back on to that calculus topic---- my math teacher is practically forcing me to take AP Calc next yearr…is this nec. if i want to major in like the humanities?? lol
i was only going to take it be/c i want to get into an ivy league school–but does it matter if i take it or not?

Calculus looks great on your transcript no matter what you want to major in.
