March 2012 SAT I Writing Thread

Discuss the SAT writing section

Last question of the test, was it “when one arrives” or something like that? It was the only one that had a subject in it the others were like “upon arrival” or “when arriving”

Also I had 3 no errors I can’t remember what they were though.

I think it was when one arrives

@yankeesfanatic
Yeah I put that too.
Otherwise, it sounded like the mountain was arriving and looming over the island lol.

Does anyone remember something about reporters badgering some woman about releasing documents? I was debating about that one.

@meatkabob
Yeah I got “when one arrives too”.

For the other one, I got “refuse …ing” cuz I thought it should have been “refuse to …”. I could be wrong though.

^same

For the coca one was it rather…them

@zzzzzz1027
Whew, I put that too!
I was deciding if it was “refused releasing” (because it should be refused to release) or no error.

@meatkabob

You don’t remember the whole sentence right? I don’t remember what I put :(

@iwannaSUCCEED
I put that too, because drinks was plural.

Yeah I got “them” too.

How many no errores did you guys get? I got 3 in total.

@yankeesfanatic
It was along the lines of “Though reporters ___, the woman politely refused releasing documents until she had written permission from the mayor.”

That is way off, but the idea is there, haha.

I had 3. Does anyone know if the one about the research paper examining something was “no error” or “examining”?

Was one of those “no errors” the one with "In the book (or movie) Salt, blah blah blah, producing blah blah blah?

Damn, I remember being conflicted between the one you guys chose and no error. Don’t remember which I chose as my answer.

@Voytek

I put no error

I had Writing experimental, for the fixing the essay part was it about pesticides or how our perception of colored foods affects what we want to eat?

Pesticides and the grass

@MoldyBrick
Woah, that sounds really interesting.
I didn’t get that reading/correcting though.

what about the puffin one??
was it: most enjoyed seeing or most enjoyed to see

wasnt it releasing that was the wrong one?

cuz it should be “to release”?

God dammit

"Last question of the test, was it “when one arrives” or something like that? It was the only one that had a subject in it the others were like “upon arrival” or “when arriving”

I picked “upon arrival” because I thought that if I chose “when one arrive” it would imply that the arrival is the cause of the mountain being tall (cause and effect)

Crap. Should have picked when one arrives. whatever :|
