MARCH 2013 SAT CR Discussion

Did CC just screw up or was that only for me.

Yeah, was down for about 30-45 minutes for me too.

jjine:

Does anyone remember what the last question mentioned above’s answer choices were?

The reading passages from the March 9th SAT were: Cairo, Apollo, Hellen Keller, Happiness comparison, Classical Music comparison, so which one was the experimental?

Or none?

Or none?

Helen Keller.

@SteelTrapMindset

How do you know it was that passage?

@RMIBstudent
I know another answer for the descriptive language one was to invite a sympathetic attitude or tone, something like that.

How much would 5 wrong be?

I had an extra critical reading passage. I’m also pretty sure that from some of these comments, not everyone had the Helen Keller one, only a few. I’ve seen every other passage that I had mentioned on here multiple times, enough to know that everyone had those. It’s a shame too, since when I was taking the test I had hoped that the Classical Music passage was the experimental one. That passage has two of my possible wrong answers, which apparently still have no consensus. I don’t think that I missed any on the Helen Keller passage.

Quote in Passage 2 -> shows a specific opinion about the topic

Anyone remember the quote for this? (I think I got it right, can’t be sure)

Passage 1 reacts to first line in passage 2 -> non-judgmental way of categorization?

Same with this

Passage 2 -> Provides different opinion (nothing explicitly stated in passage 2 bashes passage 1)

Anyone remember other common answer choices?

Anyone remember the last problem on the double passage?

I know I got two wrong so far, and I switched 18,19 so I put d,c instead of c,e. I just need to know what the last problem is. Hoping for a 700 at least. Hopefully writing doesn’t screw me over out of a 2200

What were the answer choices to the question with the categorize.

Tacobff: it is ~740

Guys, just a general poll:

Was the reading for the March SAT harder or easier than normal?

I personally thought it was easy until the last music passage…

Anyone want to answer?

I felt it was average, to slightly easy until the classical music passage as well. When we see how many we missed on April 2, I think the curve will be fairly reasonable based on the classical music passage. I got a 670 CR in March, compared to a 650 in December, so overall, except for the classical music passage, I think I did pretty well.

I have a feeling that either the curve was pretty good if I missed 8 (which I think I didn’t, but maybe)
Or average if I missed 5.

The curve for CR was terrible!!!

I can’t really tell

I got 5 wrong and 1 omit for a 720, but it seems normal.

i think the one with disneyland is the experimental
