<p>i'm guessing it might take them a while... after all, they have something like 40,000 decisions to update.</p>

<p>I'm not positive about this, but when I took a tour of Berkeley last year and we had a parent/student informational session, an admissions officer said that they don't like to post decisions until the office is closed in order to avoid inevitable phone calls. I really hope I'm wrong, though. :)</p>
<p>They're not doing it by hand though... All they should have to do is make the decision pages (which should have already been created) public and run a few tests to make sure everything is working... okay, maybe lots of tests, but still, shouldn't take too long.</p>
<p>If they are loading the new database, it can take a while. Especially, if you consider how many entries that there must be in the database.</p>

<p>Really I think 5pm PST is a little pessimistic though... there's no reason I can see they'd wait until a specific time to make things public (except the reason someone else said that they prefer to wait until the admission office is closed). My guess is they'll make the decisions public as soon as the database has been loaded and tested.</p>
