@fe2011
I’m in the same boat as you, though with slightly higher stats (24 ACT, 1800 SAT, 3.71 uw GPA) and I still believe that I have a chance, although very slight, at getting into Brown. My thing is, so what if the acceptance rate for people with scores similar to ours is less than 1-3%? That’s still better than zero. You have to kind of think of it as why can’t I be a part of that 1-3% percent? That’s the attitude I had when I tried to add classes at my local community college. There were like 60+ students trying to add a class that only had around 5 spaces and you know what, I was part of that 5. I know the college process is different than random number drawing but in both cases, the odds aren’t in our favor. Plus, even with my low stats I just got accepted to UCLA so just know that numbers aren’t everything. And even if you (or me) don’t get in, like everybody else said, at least we tried
=)

well i don’t know what your SAT is lol

I thought it was April 1st?

I’m sooo nervous for 3/30. Brown is my absolute top choice and I think I’m a perfect fit. There’s honestly nothing I regret about my app (though higher scores and grades wouldn’t hurt…). I just hope Brown gets a good sense of who I am and sees my potential!!

Just to clarify, all Ivy League decisions are available at 5 EST on March 30. The date varies year to year, and we’re just lucky it happens to be a shorter wait than past years.

h4ileyst4r My SAT was worse than my ACT :X. and really UCLA?! Congrats!! It’s such a good school!!

goldtortoise…me too. They want the applications that stand out who would be a great addition to their class! I hope you do get in! GOOD LUCK!

I did apply :)

well good luck to you! :)

my son applied ED and got deferred. His ACT was a 31 composite (36 in math…fell down a bit in english)…had high 700’s on his 3 SAT II tests and has a unweighted avg in high school of a 98. Great recommendations including my brother who was an alumni and a MD. Got a lot of really great EC’s including volunteering work at both a local hospital on weekends and at the coroners office as a autopsy tech. Looking for a career in medicine. Even with all this I think Brown is a stretch…based on some of the stats I have seen…looks like he needed to be at least a 33 ACT to be considered.

It shows that scores don’t matter much @ brown. They want to see something unique from you.

Most definitely! And hey deferred is not a bad thing really…It shows they had an unexpected amount of candidates that from those potential candidates they had to chose the best for EA. So hopefully he gets in RD :)

He hopes to make it in…and he has tried to be unique…he was the only HS student in the history of our county to be allowed to participate in autopsies, all other volunteers are college med students. I know that scores alone won’t do it…so we’re hoping he gets a chance.

I hope he does too!

… Were we supposed to receive an email saying that admissions will be released at 5pm on the 30th? I got one from UPenn saying so, but not Brown.

Nope. It’s on their blog.

I Founded my own foundation and currently send 10 people to in South Africa to University ([Seattle South African Scholarship Foundation | SSASF](http://www.ssasf.org))

My gpa is a 3.88, but my SAT is only a 2000. SATII 760M & 700US

It’s that terrible 2000 that just creeps in my nightmares all nigtht errr-night

Hey guys, don’t really have much hope I’ll get into Brown… but the anticipation is still killing me! And I’ll be hearing from the two other schools I haven’t heard from yet around the same time. I just want this all to be over!

I actually like the excitement of the wait. Once it’s over, it’s over (although I’d be a happy camper if March 30th brings good news).

I’m getting so sick of all the waiting…still waiting on 6 schools.
