March SAT 2010

^ yeah but registration for April 10 ACT will have already passed…

Taking it Expecting anywhere from 2050-2200.

Got a 1940 in Jan without much serious studying. So I guess after some serious studying my expected score is reasonable.

I’m also taking it for the first time. Not too nervous though because if I don’t do as well as I want (and for an Asian like me, “well” means over 2300), then I’ll just take it again in May or June. Literally all of my friends are in SAT classes or have private tutors or something but I feel confident in just a prep book, and having gotten a 234 on my PSATS, I’m excited to see how I’ll do.

If I go slowly, unlike how I do when I study, I expect a 2000 first try. I go fast on purpose to see what I can process and have down pat, and then work slowly on what I don’t. What is everyone’s goal?

Probably get around 2100.
High 700s M (always miss 1 or 2 easy questions)
Mid/Low 700s CR (could probably raise it a little if I study some more vocab)
600s W (really depends on essay, and i hate grammar)

200 on the PSAT. Hopefully 2200+ on the SAT

To each his own.

2 months ago, I would have ridiculed Jersey13 like crazy and called him some derogatory terms. But I was uneducated back then.

Now, I understand his reasoning for wanting to retake a 2350…
It was proven that a 2400 significantly increases your probability of getting into an Ivy over a 2350.
Check it out: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/865226-addressing-few-concerns.html

yeah, i guess if you really want to get into an ivy and are really confident you can get a 2400 then thats reasonable.

good luck Jersey13

First time taking as a junior
Got 179 on PSAT~~So sad
32 on ACT
can’t decide which one should I focus on…
Practice score is around 2000…hoping the last two weeks can make a difference and get above 2200

This is my first SAT…170 Soph PSAT, 179 Jr PSAT, no studying for both. Let’s hope for a 2000+.

Good luck, everyone.

I am taking it as well; however, im taking the standby test. Is it the same test? Im not sure…

Anyways, I’ve taken four QAS’s and have gotten very varied scores on the CR, the section that concerns me the most: 720, 680,650, 740.
Can someone help me out here? Why are my scores fluctuating this much? You should keep in mind that i’ve only gotten 1 to 2 SC wrong at most for each ( i don’t remember the exact)

were you more interested in the passages when you got that 740 or 720? i guess it could be the reason… dunno

Hey Snorlax! Remind me to give you those QAS’s. I need your email address.

I find, ironically, that the tests with the lower scores on the CR were the ones with most interesting passages. Can i extrapolate anything from the scores i listed above? (i.e. am i improving on the CR section?)

im like jersey, shooting for over 2350

First time also.
less than 2 weeks away
lots of practice, hoping for over 2200
if over 2300 then i wont retake

2nd time taking it. Got a 2240 in January test.

Going for 2350+ too :)

Sophomore, 197 PSAT (but I’m better at test taking now)
I’m hoping for a perfect 2400. That’s probably not going to happen. But aim high, right? 8D
I think I’ll do okay for the math, the critical reading, and the writing multiple choice, but I don’t have examples prepared for the essay yet, so I’m nervous about that.
