March SAT CR Thread

i thought it was saying something like the advanced stage of modern secular… so phase would fit best.

what were the question for this one? I remember for one of them i put something along the lines of autobiographical manner (the one that referenced his exposure to decorative art in europe) because they said he painted realistically.

you’re not that far off, thats what eccentric means (though this has been mentioned)

just my 2 cents

for the dinosaur one…it was heel first not feet first i think u had a typo

It’s phase, it has to be phase. If I miss anymore, just wow.

"Unexcited - the authors attitude toward “secrets”

Crap I think I put captivated or whatever. That was such an easy passage too -_-

in the court tv passage, when they asked how passage 1 would respond to “court tv will make ppl respect the system more,” is it unconvinced or humourous

@27is Unconvinced.

I put unconvinced, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Instead of either “artistic weakness” or “eclectic” I put “commercial acumen.” No one else did, so I suppose it’s wrong, but I was under the impression that he recreated his most popular (the text did say popular) portraits with relatively slipshod technique in order to earn more money?

"Unexcited - the authors attitude toward “secrets”

What passage was this in?

^unconvinced

The brocolli one is definitely the general point about natural food or whatever, not an example of a maligned vegetable…

k thanks, i put that too. Personally if i was the author of passage 1, i would find it humourous but i just couldnt get myself to put that on the SAT

I put commercial acumen as well.

It was definitely about a maligned vegetable actually.

Unconvinced is right. It was the only option that made sense, with the author of the first passage not supporting the usage of cameras in the courtroom. The question was saying that unlike with CSI and those kinds of shows, cameras foster a deeper understanding of the workings of the judicial system.

OH, what about the one that had droll and uncertain as the answer choices… it might’ve been experimental, but which one did you guys put down?

same, I put commercial acumen

And maligned vegetable is wrong. It was providing an example of the nature of fresh foods.

@27is

Same. I was thinking if I was the passage of author 1, I would have definitely found it humorous. Obviously though, the SAT isn’t going to pose questions where authors of opposing passages mock each other.

I realize that, but it said that broccoli loses it nutrients when it’s not frozen.
