March SAT CR Thread

No it wasn’t.

Na, I don’t remember neophyte at all.

Okay, maybe it was one of the experimental section questions.

@jjtheairplane

that’s possible, but regardless of whichever definition you use, none of them truly fit.
1.to address or dedicate (a book, photograph, etc.) informally to a person, esp. by writing a brief personal note in or on it.

… nothing’s being dedicated.

2.to mark (a surface) with words, characters, etc., esp. in a durable or conspicuous way.

you’re not marking any surface (unless you want to argue the ground is a surface) but even then, you’re not using any words or characters (you’re using rocks) and nothing’s conspicuous about it.

3.to write, print, mark, or engrave (words, characters, etc.).

same thing, you’re not writing anything.

4.to enroll, as on an official list.

obviously not.

5.Geometry. to draw or delineate (one figure) within another figure so that the inner lies entirely within the boundary of the outer, touching it at as many points as possible: to inscribe a circle in a square.

again, the word circumscribe would more fit this.

and also, don’t forget that this is college board we’re talking about. Even if you thought that inscribe may have been a close answer, you have to remember that CB wants the BEST answer choice; delineate (look it up) is still better than inscribe.

CB is cheap like that.

I still think that hysteria fits better than wonder in the sailor passage.

hysteria is far too extreme for collegeboard to use.

hysteria:
an uncontrollable outburst of emotion or fear, often characterized by irrationality, laughter, weeping, etc.

there was nothing uncontrollable about the author’s emotions. the author seemed perfectly in control when she was writing, she was just enthusiastic about the subject, but an uncontrollable outburst goes too far.

edit: and yes, superexicted below me, that too.

I think hysteria is more along the lines of fear.

But they describe the fruits as having human qualities.

I’m probably wrong.

lol it’s okay even if you are.
collegeboard is a bunch of *. the SATs are *ed up.
learn how they “think” and you’re guarenteed a 700.

In that case I’m looking at 4 wrong. What will that yield?

i’d say a 750-760ish, but who knows. could be higher or lower.

High 700s
and @wanderyonder
it was describing the sailor’s reaction towards this fruit, but still hysteria is too strong.

oh my bad, i kinda forgot the context of the question.
but yeah same point.

Alright, hopefully that high 700 will offset my high 600 in math. =</p>

Sorry to go offtopic, but 5 wrong in math would be a 680-690 right?

Around that, yes.

what do u guys think about 10 wrong and 5 omitted would be?

Around a 620-630.

This is from looking at historic curves, by the way.

Probably around low 600s to mid 600s.

the film adaptation wasnt experimental was it?

Does anyone remember the actual sentence for the “disingenuous” one?
