please explain probability and parabola question

what was the 2x question???

please explain probability and parabola question

what was the 2x question???

@^ False

For the median to have been 88 degrees, 88 would be the temperature of the 7th day.

Those of you who got 93, did you re-order the numbers first?

Can anyone confirm 5/x=4 with x/10 being 1/8? and something with 2x/7 being 2? I don’t remember the second problem specifically but I just remembered those two.

I confirm with SlightManifesto. You must order the numbers in order to get 88 as the median.

Crazy: Yes to the first one. Not sure about the second.

^ Crzy, I got those answers too.

the school question. anybody have the exact wording?

I got difference of 9 for something.

i thought the school question said determine the difference of the avg number of increase in students in two schools and there was a graph

please explain probability and parabola question

what was the 2x question???

@sententia difference of 9 for the perimeters of the similar triangles. Might have been experimental though, I’m not sure.

@SLightManifesto: I am 100% positive I reordered the numbers. It gave temps for 6 days, 80, 82, 83, 90, 91, 93 (something like that and not in order) and said that the temps were recorded for 7 days with 88 being the median. so in order it would be: 80, 82, 83, 88, 90, 91, 93. The 7th day would be 93. Anyone confirm?

2x question was experimental.
Difference of 9 was not experimental.

cookie: No. The question asked what the 7th day temperature would be in order for the median to be 88.

y = x^2 + kx + 15

vertex = (4,-1)

-1 = 4^4 + 4k + 15
-32 = 4k
k = -8

y = x^2 -8k + 15
y = (x-5)(x-3)

Thus answer is (5,0)

Difference of 9 in the two perimeters of the similar triangles.

To cookiemonster: I think you are incorrect. The first 6 numbers were the numbers of the first 6 days, and because 88 is the median, but was not included in the list of numbers for the first 6 days, it had to be the 7th day’s temperature.

The other question with the two functions, where they said f(x) = x + k and g(x) = xk should have been 6

cookiemonster, the 7th day was 88 not 93. Remember it said that they already had recorded the first 6 days. The temperate your added (the 7th day) was 88.

difference was 9, it wasn’t experimental

How about the question with the greatest change in number of votes from 2002 to 2004. I put the letter with the coordinates (10, 40)

It was B for the 2002-2004 votes.
