March SAT Math Thread

oops, my bad. cc told me to repost in 43 seconds :3

@superexcited
6 was definitely the shortest side on the first one, but that’s all i remember.
12 sounds familiar.

ahhh, what sides did we use for proportions on that? similar left ones?

@wanderyonder
I think the shortest side was 4, and that was the triangle on the left. That side corresponded to the 6 on the other triangle.

i stand corrected, that’s very possible. sorry.

any other questions guys?!! we should finish the list.
the longer we wait, the less we’ll remember.

I think the sides were:
4,9,y
6,x,12

no i remember now.
it was:
4, 6, 8
6, 9, 12 (after you’ve worked the x and y out)

I’m having a hard time coming up with other questions; most of the ones I can think of were definitely experimental.

Okay, this is about as vague as it can get, but I’m remembering something at the beginning of a section, simple algebra problem, and a 3(variable+/-something)=something

haha I have no idea. I might just be making things up at this point, but I figure I’ll take a shot at jogging someone else’s memory.

Anyone else have any new recollections? Vague or otherwise?

@wanderyonder
Yeah, you’re right.

Two triangle question:
4, 6, 8

yeah but isn’t it asking what the difference between the perimeters is?

@wanderyonder: edit your consolidated list. we have 49 (or 50?) answers already.

^ Yes the answer was 9, which was put on the consolidated list a while ago.

EDIT: Nevermind.

yeah that’s already up there.
and there are still 48. :P

oh, someone must have miscounted then :p

Does anyone remember a problem with side by side right triangles?

Leftmost angle was y, rightmost was x.

Or was it experimental?

I can’t think of anymore questions! The rest of the questions we can’t seem to remember must have been too easy so we forgot about it.

Does anyone remember having to find the area of a quadrilateral?

@kameronsmith
i don’t remember, probably experimental, anyone else?
@boston1993
unless you’re referring to the one with 3 squares… no

wanderyonder forgot to add the 7 weeks, so we’re up to 49 answers now
