@mabsjenbu123 I remember putting lay as the error I believe.

For the film students it was something like “Students are not only attracted to the film makers class because they like the idea of watching movies for homework, — heard it has an entertaining lecturer.”

I had it between “, but they also” and “but also because they”. I chose the latter.

For the ensemble question, is my whom / who error wrong? Can they have two errors in a sentence …?

Oh, the soloist question went something like:

“The ensemble is composed of Larry the pianist, Ronald the cellist, and Leonard the violinist, all of whom have succeeded as a soloist.”

Those names are made up.

I think I put “but they also” because “but also because they” is redundant.

I think it might have been “but also because they”

I don’t think that’s actually a grammatical error, but my memory of the question is fuzzy. Wasn’t it “whom” in there?

Might be the wrong place to post this; if this should be somewhere else, please tell me!

The proctor for our test gave us 15 minutes for the essay instead of 25. I was timing the essay with my own watch, and several other people in the room were looking at the clock on the wall and said that she cut us short. She also gave us erratic and shortened breaks, but that is a separate issue.

Should I contact the College Board? I don’t believe that I did as well on the essay as I could have, but from what I can tell from this forum and the CR and math forums, I did quite well on the test overall. Will notifying the College Board cause all of my scores to be cancelled?

what was the answer to the non-experimental 35 min improving sentence one that read…

"The emperor penquin is the largest of the penquins, ( )’

I put somehting along the lines of ’ , standing about 45 inches tall’ . a semicolon would have made sense, but the choices that contained semicolons were incorrect in verb form

I put “the average bird standing about 45 inches tall.”

I put “but also because they” to maintain parallelism with the because…because but I could understand redundancy being an issue.

And I believe I put “the average bird standing about 45 inches tall” as well.

99college: My essay was about moderation, as well.

Does anyone remember a question about disposable clothing? It was an ID error question. I’m really hoping it was an experimental ):

I don’t remember anything about disposable clothing, and I know my experimental section was math.

the question we are discussing involves an idiomatic error.

Not only … but also …
These two phrases, when used together, cannot be separated. Not and only must be next to eachother, and but and also must be next to eachother.

Therefore, ‘but they also’ would not be idiomatically correct.
Instead, it would be ‘but also because they…’

Disposable clothing was experimental.
