Are any of you planning to retake in May? I'm taking subject tests in June, so I have to decide between May and October. I'm not sure whether May is too soon after the March test to improve much or whether it'll be easier because the test will still be fresh in my mind.

What are your thoughts on this, and when are you planning on retaking?

I’m retaking May, aiming for 2100. I got 2030 in March, 700 Math and Writing, 630 CR. I’m working on improving CR to 700, bringing superscore to 2100. Do colleges still superscores?

I’m thinking of taking the test three times at most, so I’ll be taking my next test in October, and then in November, and for early decision I’ll be able to use all three scores.

There are schools that still take all your scores (Universities in California), so I don’t wanna take the test more than 3 times…lol

I’m taking subject tests in June as well, and I’m not gonna pay the late fee and take it in May in the middle of AP testing. If I do decide to try and improve on my 2310, it will be in October of my Senior year.

I am also going to take the subject tests in June. If you are not applying ED, can you still take the November SAT test to count? This would mean I have taken the SAT once in March, October, and November, as well as subject tests in June. Is this too much? I, similarly to the OP, am trying to reach at least the 2100 mark (with a 2000 in March). Do you think I should retake in May and pay the late fee so I don’t have to take it again in November (too soon after october?), or should I just really really try to improve in October so I can get the 2100 or higher and not bother taking it a third time? I am not planning on applying ED at this point(which may change). What do you think? I would really appreciate the advice, as the late registration date for May is approaching…

I’m doing SAT II in May. Its either gonna be June or October. June may be too soon though ( the soonest i will start restudying for SAT would be after AP exams). If I do October, can i still do EA applications?

Wait…they have a december test? so we will have the october results back before the december test? how does that work with college RD, as most are due Jan. 1? Will it affect your application at all if your SAT scores come in during January/February?

I’m retaking the SAT I either next October or November. I’m quite unhappy about having to take them again, but I didn’t get the math score I was looking to get on the March SAT.

And plus, I’ve got too much to worry about this spring/early summer to even have time to prep for the SAT Math section. With my APUSH and AP Chem tests coming up, along with the regular demands of term papers/projects for school and EC’s/sports, I’ve got a lot on my plate until early May (when AP exams are over). Then I have to prepare a bit for the SAT II tests that I’m taking in June (US History and either Math II or Chemistry)…

So basically, this spring + summer before school ends = stressful hell. woot.

I don’t want to start another “should I retake?” thread, so I guess I’ll ask here. If I’m looking at schools like MIT and Caltech, should I retake a 2310 if my math score was 720? I’ve gathered from advice given to others that I probably should, but I want to make sure.
