haha! i saw a lot of marchers out on the school countdown thread, so i thought i'd start this thread!

name your game.
i'll go first

school/state: fairview high school, boulder colorado
best state result: 8th in state (last year)
instrument played: flute!
what do you love most about marching?: the fields! it's really exhilarating. (spell?)

ready, set, mark time hut!

You should add which style of marching (Military/Core) to this. BIG difference.

most of us are military style, with an array of woodwinds thrown into the mix.

style of marching: military

one can only dream to be in a core....about 3 weeks ago i was at a drum corps competition (drums along the rockies) and was amazed at the cavaliers..+_+ they are amazing, and i hope i can be as good as them someday....

They're such crowd-pleasers!! I love the Cavies--they're definitely best live, though. Semifinals are being shown on the 10th at this movie theater downtown..sweet.

My guard instructor's marching Carolina Crown this year..he's amazingly talented.

they were at the dci here at the georgia dome last saturday. They took us free to get "inspired"

it was simply amazing. one of their finest shows ever. i believe they won....

I wanna march for a Div. I corps sooo much..maybe someday..I just need to get about 400,000x better, I'd say.

..and that's not a daunting number or anything.

yeah...i suggest super-gluing your flags to both of your hands and practicing for an hour whenever you see it. the down side of this brilliant idea is that you may have trouble writing/eating/sleeping/brushing your teeth/showering/hanging out with friends without looking like a deform anomaly. yup.

I've always thought Core was interesting (and I'd kill for a cape...oh the laughs my friends and I would have gotten out of them), but I'm glad my HS is Military.

Heh, the LA Tech band director tried to convince me to march in Tech's band (Core), but no more marching for me! Don't have the time or desire to continue marching, but I can't wait until concert season starts.

yeah, the rest of the people on my guard are less..motivated than i am (to put it more politely than "they're slackers with too much time on their hands"), so they have tons of opportunities to practice constantly. luckily i can still pull it together without, but i bet i'd be pretty decent if i actually had time during the school year to work on stuff outside of practices lol.

..wishful thinking ;)
