Any suggestions for private schools with marching bands?

If you're really into marching band and would base your decisions off of it, I wouldn't go ivy. Coming from a really hard core band at my high school I was really surprised to see Harvard's band in tee shirts and jeans walking out of step on a field. University of Delaware is a really good state school with an amazing marching band. A close friend of mine is on the horn line and she loves it. If you really want to go private, BU has a good band and so does Syracuse.

It's really important to visit during band season. You're probably busy with your own group in the fall, but if you have a weekend off try to check some of those in-state ones out during a performance. Honestly everything will change if you don't like the way they march or perform, etc. As someone who wanted a really good color guard in a college, that's the best advice I can give you.
